1.
Yeah, I selected the epson in page setup, tried pluging the cable into different ports and also tried a firewire cable instead of the usb. But, I know what you mean about checking the obvious first.
I'm thinking that because I'm not using the latest OS and because it's not an intel mac that maybe the latest upgraded Epson drivers aren't the best. I'm wondering if I could find an old driver from somewhere.

 2.
Oops, sorry. I knew I had done this before and posted an answer before I tested (been a while since I've done this).
Make your action in photoshop to create the watermark then as the last stage of the action go to File > Save for Web & Devices...
Set the quality of the jpeg, click the save button and then select the folder you want to save the files to and save.
Close the psd file without saving changes then stop recording the action.
Now go to File > Automate > Batch select your action, select the source folder and for destination select Save and Close.
Got there in the end. Sorry about the first post.

 3.
If you've got lightroom you could export all the psd files to a new folder as jpegs - this way the computer won't keep asking you what quality you want for each file.
Once you have your folder of jpegs you can then use the photoshop batch process to apply the watermark using the link Stephanie posted above.

Maybe if you have a look around the web there is another plugin or stand alone app that will export a folder of psd files to jpegs as a batch.

 4.
Thanks for the replies.

Kevin, I realised that I have tried the driver you mentioned. I've just tried installing it again following some advice that suggested after uninstalling all epson drivers that I should run Disk Utility then in the Disk First Aid section, select Repair Permissions before restarting the mac and reinstalling the driver. I'm still getting the error.

Colin, you may be onto something here. The mac print set-up does look different to the windows version and I may be overlooking something. I'm using Photoshop CS4, I start by going to page setup and setting a custom page size without bleed. I then select print, the printer and page size are already selected so I select the print option to get the next print box to open (this is where it looks different from the pc version). Under the Roll Paper Option I have cut sheet selected, and then under Print Settings I choose Luster paper and Best Photo options and click print. My paper is loaded from the top of the printer but after the print head does one movement from right to left I get the Media out or not loaded correctly error.

JDM von Weinberg, I do still have the original disc that came with the printer. When I got my mac it had just had a clean install of the operating system. The first thing I did was to go to the apple site to get the latest upgrade to 10.4.11 and after installing a driver for my HP laserjet I installed the Epson driver off the disc.

I'm sure there is a fix to get this working but I've been hacking my brains out over it for a week and still don't seem to be any closer to a solution at the moment.

 5.
Hi, I'm new on here so apologies if I'm repeating stuff here but when I did a search I couldn't find a conclusive answer.
I recently acquired an old mac that runs so much faster than my old pc but I can't print to my r2400 (ideally I would have replaced it with a new mac but I'm saving up for a new lens). All I can print is nozzle check patterns if I try to print a file I get media load errors.
I've been using the printer for a year on my pc with no problems. I've checked all my settings, installed, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, used drivers from the epson website, drivers from the supplied cd and even tried an older driver sent by a friend but nothing solves the problem. I'm certain that the problem is something to do with the driver or a software conflict because I hooked it back up to my pc and it printed first time.
I'm using a power mac G4 with os x 10.4.11. Also, I'm in the UK so I've been using the drivers off the epson UK website. I have heard that drivers for the US market are different - I haven't tried those yet but I guess there's no harm trying.
I would be interested to hear if anyone has had similar issues using os x 10.4 even if you didn't solve them because at least I would know if I'm fighting a lost cause.

 6.
I don't know if anyone is going to notice this response to an old post but I've just run into the same problem.
I've had my epson r2400 printer for a year and it's been working great on my pc. I've just replaced the pc with a G4 power mac running os x 10.4.11. All I get now is media load errors. I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling drivers. I even found an older version of the driver but can't get anything other than nozzle check patterns to print. Just to ensure it was a software rather than hardware problem, I hooked it back up to the pc and it printed with no problems.
I'm also using lustre paper but I don't think this is causing the problem. It's the same paper I've been using without any issues for the past year.
I did speak to a guy who says it took him 2 weeks to get his epson working on his mac but couldn't remember what he did to it. I've tried google but only seem to find people with problems after installing newer operating systems. Anyone got any advise on how to get it working with os 10.4.11?
