1.
Ok, Josh. I didn't understand the question fully, at first. Here is what I really wanted to buy:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Orange-County-Drums-and-Percussion-Avalon-6-Piece-Drum-Shell-Pack-788344-i1422069.gc
It's a new drum shell pack, on sale for almost $800. I am including a photo of my drum set. The mounted toms are a little big, causing me to mount my roto toms
It is difficult to reach the cymbals comfortably. A new drum set! Now that would be SWEET.

00WY72-247327684.jpg.641032806032a64aab8d42c1828975d5.jpg

 2.
I would put $800 down on a new roof. We have had this house for over 10 years, bought it when it was 18 years old, and I believe the original roof is on it. Oh, Josh: please remember to drain and refill that hot water heater every three months. We replaced a hot water heater last summer. Our neighbor was an electrician, a plumber, and an HVAC man. (Too bad he moved last fall). He installed our new hot water heater for free. Peter told us that rust and deposits collect on the bottom of the hot water heater. If you don't drain and refill it regularly, it could rust the bottom out. That's what happened to us.

 3.
You need to comment on other people's photos to get comments back. "Give and you shall receive." still holds true here. When you have time, go to the critique forum and pick a category that interests you, or go to the "Gallery" section, pull down the menu and go to "search by caption" or "search by photo tags" and type in what interests you. People usually see what you have in your portfolio after they read your comments. I have a friend who has the same problem: he doesn't have much time to comment on other photographer's photos, and doesn't get much feedback either.

 4.
Take photographs of what you love. For example, I love dogs, and you probably noticed this already. If you photograph what you love, follow basic photographic rules, and try to be creative, you will succeed. To get critiques, I look at the front page, comment on the photograph, if it is striking, is of a subject matter I enjoy, or if I believe it is beautiful. If I really like what I see, I usually view the other photos in that photographer's portfolio and comment. Sometimes I will visit pages from the critique forum in this same manner. If you really enjoy the entire portfolio, you can mark that person as "interesting." That person will see your name in a list of who is interested in you. I have noticed that when I visit many people's photos and portfolios and comment on them, these people will respond to see what I have on photo.net. This is how I found you: you commented on one of my photos. Happy shooting! -- Regards, Janice
