1.
I orginally posted this on dgrin. I want to get as much info as possible.
I am strongly looking at getting a couple of SB600/800/900 flashes for my Nikon D200 possible soon to be D300 or 700.

My question is whether or not I need any type of remote transmitter devices such as a Pocket Wizard. From what I can tell the D200 pop up will work as a commander and I can set flash power and groups from my camera, but I not sure if I am missing anything. I have watched the online Nikon video and done some reading, but I still have a few questions. I will be shooting mostly BMX, skateboarding, that type of thing.
I am very new to flash photography. I got as response on the other forum mentioning weak transmitters in daylight, which is what is when I will be using it the most along with some links to alternatives. They look pretty good.

Any thoughts or ideas on flashes and transmitters. I like the ideas of the pop up flash controlling things, but not if its not going to work.

 2.
I too am at a crossroads about FX vs DX. The D3 or D3x is out. Cant afford it in my wildest dreams. So I am looking at D700 vs D300s.
I have recently shot some indoor low light situation and I would have loved less noise that FX supposedly gets you, but for me in the D700 I would be giving up FPs Dual Card Slots and Video. I shoot mostly action stuff. I rarely vary from ISO 200-400. I would also like the lower depth of field of FX format. I have often dreamed about the Nikon 200 2.0 lens for the bokeh it creates, but for me the D300s make better sense even if I loose out on a few things. Add some speed and dual card slots to the D700 and you got a winner. Oh yeah, thats the D3. I guess I answered my oqn question. The d300s
