I don't really want to imitate her or anybody else. I would like to learn about different ( often challenging techniques) hoping that I will discover something extraordinary on the way, which pleases YOU, ME and my clients...:)
Thanks for all your contributions!!! :)

To be honest I am still confused a little bit...:)
I can see that her exposure is very accurate but there is something there which makes her images very nice to look at...
Somebody had mentioned using film cameras with superb lenses...it makes me think. Is there anybody out who still shoots in film and could add her/his opinion to this thread?

Marc! I really like what you did to the picture! Very nice job!

1. I am not a beginner photographer.
2. None of the actions produce this look. I have used all the actions; Totally rad, Kubota and also the NIK efex sets.
3. If you would look at the pictures you would see why I posted this question here in the wedding section.
Is there anybody who is familiar with this type of post processing?
Thanks!

I love her work! Do you have any idea how she produces this type of look? (I have already asked her. I guess she is busy, she hasn't answered yet.)
The colors on here pictures are soooo vivid. Is it the camera, the camera settings, lighting or the post processing, which creates this type of look...? I try to make my colors vivid and interesting but they just don't turn out that well. :( I have a 5D, 5D Mark II, Canon 35mm 1.4, 85mm 1.2, etc so I don't think it is the equipment...
Please look at the pictures and you will see what I mean: http://www.julieharrisphotography.com/blog/2009/12/hannah-and-erics-breckenridge-wedding/
The colors are so beautiful and there are lots of detail on the pictures.... Do you have any idea how to start? What am I doing wrong so the colors on my images are not that beautiful? :)
(I am not supposed to put my link here so if you want to see the difference between her and my pictures you can follow the link in my photo.net profile. Well, there is a difference...:))
Thanks for all your suggestions!

I know this has been discussed in the past but I would need updated info about which soft box to get today.
I would like to have a bigger softbox but something which is not horrible expensive... I have already have a small 24" softbox which I use with my flashlight but it is not that useful....I think size does matter in respect of softboxes... What do you think?
I would need the soft box for weddings occasionally in a backroom. I would prefer something which I could fire with my flash but I know that I would need stronger light for the good quality. I need something which I can easily set up and pull down. What strobe should I get for the box?
Do you know a moderately priced bigger good quality soft box? How much do you think my minimum investment should be? Can you recommend a very good quality softbox with strobe light and battery?
Thanks a lot!

Wow! Lots of information!!! :):):) Yeah, I will get a white umbrella if I decide for the umbrella.

I can't decide which one I should buy, a soft box or a silver umbrella. I would like to use it on site portraits during weddings. So I need something which is easy to transport. Also, I don't want to spend a lot of money on it.
What do you think? Did you have the same problem in the past and you have learned something since?
Which one should I buy? Is there a big difference in light quality?
Thanks a lot!

Hey everybody!

I am just wondering how you do link exchange with other fellow photographers...

My google page rank: 3

If you are interested, please contact me. The link exchange would be beneficial for both of us.
Please include your site address and the link details you want me to put on my website.

Thanks!

I am just wondering what kind of camera the Japanese Emperor would use for personal hobby photography? Would he use a Canon , Nikon , Sony or a German Leica ....?
I think he would use a CANON.
What are your thoughts?

Hey Guys!
1. I don't mind the negative comments like: " Upgrade the photographer, not the gear."
"looked at the web site, there seems to be a lack of post processing on some of the images"
I really appreciate your help!!! I am not perfect, I know.

2. I DO use high end UV filter! I will remove all of them!
3. At least some of you guys liked some of my pictures. It makes me fell much better! Much better!

"So, why not have your equipment checked for focusing problems and maybe try to learn some more post production techniques before spending your cash?"

Yeah, I think you are right.

Do you think the fine calibration system of the new 5D MArk II would help?

I am looking for people who have already switched from Canon to Nikon! Are you satisfied? Better colors? Better output?
I am thinking of doing it because I am not happy. Read this here on photo.net: http://www.photo.net/canon-eos-digital-camera-forum/00Uxgk

Sunday morning I woke up with a thought that I should switch from Canon to Nikon and become one of the Nikonians. I am a wedding photographer and it is still early and I am kind of pissed! This is a bad start for a Sunday!

It seems to me that Nikon cameras and also lenses outperform the Canon system. As a matter of fact, I have the top of the line gear; Canon 5D, Canon 85mm 1.2L, 35mm 1.4L, 70-200 2.8L, etc… AND I am not really impressed by the new Canon 5D Mark II either! It seems to me that Nikon cameras are much better (ALREADY!) and Canon is just catching up…. All the photographers I adore SEEM to have NIKON SYSTEM!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to blame Canon for my pictures but it seems to me that photographers with Nikon cameras and lenses more easily create the unique special look (beautiful sharp, crisp, fresh images with dreamy look, and colors which pop!) on their images which distinguishes them from the REST of us.

To be honest I am a bit hesitant to do it. Do you think it is ME or what? My site with all the pictures: "haring photography miami " . Be honest! I am good with criticism. I need to find out! Please advise me! Has anybody actually changed after already having the top of the line Canon lenses? Was there an improvement? As you know this would be an expensive switch. Thanks! Otto

this is cool!!!
Can you upload some pictures?

-

Canon 50mm 1.2L on full frame body, maybe Canon 85mm and the 70-200mm 2.8.
I know they are super expensive. BUT they deliver quality!
You can see samples in the kids section here: www.haringphotography.com
I hope it helps.
