I know this is a 2009 photo, but the D300 seems to maintain a much finer edge detail though. The D5000 seems to sacrifice edge detail for noise reduction. You can really see it at the light to dark transitions. The far right line on the D300 has a much better edge than the D5000. I don't know much about either camera though, so resolution might be at play here.

Thanks Gerry, this was a non-flash event for safety considerations.
I do now have the 50mm prime, so I wonder how much the extra stops in light could help.

Let me know what you think! Feel free to rate/comment on any other
photos I have related to this one or any other photo I have online.

This shot does have it all. I've never considered a shot could feel "happy" even with the dark clouds overhead. Great work!
Update: Just realized you're from Seattle too. I'm not originally from here, but the cloud formations out here really do lend themselves to some great art.

A long exposure with the 18-55mm non-IS canon kit lens. Shot on a
fence post as I didn't have a tripod on me. One thing I will say, I
missed the best colors in the sky by about 10 minutes as I was rushing
home to get the camera.

Let me know what you think. Something about this composition feels
off, but I like the photo in general. Let me know if you think a well placed
crop would help this one out. Feel free to rate it too.

Great shot. The smaller builiding with it's bend plays a trick on the eyes. I only wonder how this could have looked had the building on the far right could have stayed in frame all the way to the bottom of the photo and ended at the corner.

Pretty sure you can't have a partner in this kind of dance. Let me
know what you think.

Highly colorized, but I like the end results. Let me know what you think!

Went to a pumpkin farm to find this nice aged truck with a wooden bed
and a single pumpkin on it. Anyways, it made for a nice composition
and then I decided to saturate the orange/red/blue colors. I did lose a
bit of orange info when converting to jpeg from the original raw so I think
it might look a bit more odd than it first was. Let me know otherwise
though if you think the colors are too strong, thanks!

HI everyone,
I chose to tone down the bright orange and yellows I had in the other
photos in this album and came up with this. Let me know if I should
bring the color back or brighten it a bit more.
Thanks.

Let me know what you think, especially of any other photos in this
album. This was my "trial by fire" in shooting photos in the dark. One of
my memory cards even decided to stop recording images at 50% full.
The safety netting seemed to mess with my focus on some shots too.
I'd be happy to hear anything about any of these photos though, some
are post processed more than others, and it's probably evident.

Me gusta como has recortado a esta photo. Buen uso al espacio a la izquierda.

I wish the fisherman hadn't looked down during my shot, but I still
like this, probably because I know what the shot could have looked like.

Taken with my Tamron 28-75mm + Omega Close-up lens handheld with my
elbows on a brick wall. I really like the bokeh in the macro shots
I've been taking with this combo. I bought the Tamron used and it
came with the close-up lenses made by omega. I know they made
enlargers and other items, but can't find any info on the lenses.

Well, highly trained in deploying puppy eyes at least. This is her
with full attention on me to be let outside.
Only photoshopped to remove some sandals in the corners and cropped to 5x7
-
Taken with my cell phone, stitched together in CS4. Only minor
adjustments. Have a cell phone video of it as well, the colors and
size of it all were amazing, if you think this at least looks decent,
it looked epic in person.
-
Nothing quite like a handy cell cam for those shots you can't plan.
-
Yeah, I did this panorama with my ancient brick sized LG VX9800. Otherwise known as "The V", as in the predecessor to the 100 versions they have now of the enV. Still carrying it after all these years.
-
I did take it with my cell, but it's more than one photo stitched together. The sunsets and cloud formations out here are amazing, I just wish I had my actual camera with me at the time because the cell phone doesn't do the size or color of this any justice.
-
The tilted angle on this shot was a bit of an accident caused by my
DIY string monopod but I think it works making it look like the
fisherman has caused it. It has minor correction with contrast and
saturation, but enough to be unmanipulated, just see the next photo
which is only contrast corrected to see the less saturated photo.
Should I go further by darkening the mountains? Let me know what you
think!

I understand the purpose for doing so, but have you considered a version without the added vignetting? Great photo either way.
