1.
For some while I have downloaded Raw images directly from my Canon 550D to my MacBook and iPhoto 9. Preferences set to edit photo in PSE8. Mac OS Leopard.
All was well until I upgraded to Lion OS 10.7.
PSE8 then crashed each time but would accept raw files.
Reinstalled PSE8 from original disc.
Now PSE8 will not recognise CR2 files from my Canon. Can drag thumbnail images onto PSE8 but they appears as JPEG not raw.
Looked at new Abobe Camera Raw driver but cannot seem to get it to load. Think it only supports PSE9.
Any simple solution? Do not want to spend any cash as plan to upgrade to iMac /CS4 in September.
Thanks

 2.
I'm still being daft. Shooting in Raw + Jpeg - download camera to iPhoto. Finish with two images CR2 and JPEG with same number next to each other . Add keyword CR2 and split into two events. Now want to move the Raw files to another version of iPhoto on external hard drive. Select all in the Raw CR2 event and export to a new folder on desk top. ... Opened folder to check and they are now all JPEGs and not the CR2 files I expected.
Guess I am being stupid - or just don't understand Raw... Is there a way?
Thanks

 3.
Hi,
For a variety of reasons I've started to shoot Raw and Jpeg combined and finish up with both shots along side each other in iPhoto 09 - one CR2 and the other JPEG.
I would like to separate these into two separate events, or onto different hard drives. The sort facility allows date/ title/keyword/ my rating. Thought I had cracked it as sorting by Keyword all the CR2 images go (somewhere) and I'm left with the Jpegs .. so I rated these 3* - then resorted back to date ...stone the crows all the CR2 came back also rated 3*. I would really like to batch sort these files as there are a lot to do manually.
I'm sure there must be a way --- any one ??

Cheers

 4.
Hi, This might not help but... I once had a wide angle converter screwed onto my kit lens and I had exactly the same problem insofar as the original converter cap itself was useless as it kept falling off as I kept the lens and converter screwed together all the time in my camera bag. Eventually I found a black plastic screw cap on container of tomato paste which was exactly the right size and was a very snug fit after I ground out the tread. Looked quite smart too as it was plain black with no logo. Why not cast around in your kitchen cupboard or look closely at items in the supermarket.. bit of lateral thinking
Cheers
5.
Hi,
I've had a 75-300 mm USM lens for ages and I am happy with the results, but the annoying feature of this lens is that it creeps, so I walk around with the camera on a hand strap holding the lens back with one finger firmly on the barrel.
A couple of months ago I bought a 18-135 mm on eBay (having read the reviews which all say no sign of zoom creep) and guess what .. it creeps too.
A zoom lock would have been the answer but Canon didn't fit one (unlike Sigma).
Does anyone have a suggestion for a simple and inexpensive DIY solution?
Thanks
6.
Hi, I've just traded up from a 28-90 mm to a 28-105mm USM and generally the results are good. However I find that the lens will often hunt for focus - and keep hunting for 10 + seconds. Have switched to manual focus in desperation. Didn't happen with the 28-90, nor with my 70-300, 50mm 1.8, or the kit lens. Is the lens faulty? or the camera (350D) ? Is there a simple cost free cure?
Cheers
