1.
When i am going thru the many forums on this site (which I love) I often see photogs that have done before and after pics using a forums current pic. I always wonder "how did they do that to make it look so much better". So I am asking some of you to post before (overexposed, underexposed, oof, sdof, unsharp, non-vibrant) and show us the after and how you did it. Thanks and look forward to the post so we all can learn a think or 2. ciao

 2.
Overall you did a fair job. Before wedding photos are all about capturing the joy of getting ready for the biggest event of a bride/grooms life. Have fun with. Say funny things and just be aware and shoot, shoot and shoot some more. I also dont like the photo posted above. They both look crazy in this photo. She could have been looking up at him with a slight smile and he could have been looking off in the distance or at the camera. If the experession doesnt look right in the camera it is no fixing it in post production.

 3.
Each person runs their business to their liking and satisfaction. If you truly feel weird about the offer the potential client put on the table Say No. I request 50% deposit at time of signinh of contract and the balance no later than 30 days before the wedding. I do not want to have to wait around or hunt anyone down day of the wedding to get my money, nor do I want to NOT be paid for all the hard work that goes into successfully photographing a wedding. Nor do I want to run the risk of the couple running out of money (which happens more times than not) and me not getting paid or getting the sob story of "Oh we ran out of money, can we pay you when you deliver" Nope. So good luck in deciding which works best for you and like they say Follow your gut instinct. ciao

 4.
Thanks William. I am not as worried as the post sounded but I have been thinking of TFPing some models and doing some "mock" wedding scenes just to expand my port plus I love shooting. I figure if the potential client has a problem with the lack of diversity in my port than that is her decision to not hire me. Thanks for responding. Have a great nite! : ) I will let you know hot the consultation goes tommorrow.

 5.
Ok question for all of you. With my wedding photography, most/all of my clients have been of the same ethic background as myself. No reason except that is how it has been. Well tommorrow I am sitting down with a new potential client and her mom and I think we are of different races. In my port my work is great and speaks for my work and my personality and business savvy speaks for the rest. So my question is how do I approach the situation with having no races but one in my port? I am trying to open up my horizons and look forward to the day I have clients of all races and walks of life. Does this make sense or am I being paranoid that I may lose the business because of this?

 6.
I have seen some photogs use a sync cord for hot shoe mounted flash. What is the benefit of this and if I purchase one do I buy it for the type of flash I use or the camera I have Nikon d70? Thanks

 7.
I have a fulltime job right now that I dont particularly like but I do what I have to to do what i want to> i shoot every spare chance i get. I do a little of everything. Weddings, children, models and events. I have package deals and a la carte. For more money I am willing to release limited copyright privleges. If you love your day job keep it and so photography when you can.

 8.
If you didnt get a contract signed between you and the photographer than you may not be in luck. If you want you could ask the photographer to sign a contract stating that the images you took you be allowed to use for samples of your work and see how that goes. Remember in this business contracts are everything. Good Luck.

 9.
i agree with a few of the other posts. I am not a lawyer but I would consult with one if I was you. I also agree that what is in the contract stands up in court. She signed a contract that stated that you can use not "only the pics she likes" but 100% of the images for self promotion. It is not completly your fault she doesnt like the way she looks in the photo, to you that could be the one image you love and vice versa. I would remind her of the contract and if all else fails and you want to really work it out I would only use the the photos she is pleased with and inform her of the same with the images she can use. Good Luck

 10.
Overall you did a great job for your first wedding. With time you learn the tricks of the trade. I have only been doing weddings for about a year now but have learned so much in that short time. Photography and life in itself is a learning process. Continue to grow with it and you will be fine.
