Thanks so much, Holger! I think this was my favorite shot of the entire trip. I just wish we had had more time to explore the city.
-
Thanks, Charles. It was a rainy day but I was pretty pleased with the results.

Thanks so much, Patsy! I've just returned from this trip to the England, Wales and Scotland and with over 700 pictures, it was hard to pick some favorites. I really liked this one as well....
-
I love this shot! I'll be in England in another month and hope I can get at least a few shots as good as this one.

Love the detail on this shot and it's especially noticeable when viewed large. Great job!
-
I like the other one best. I think you lose too much detail in this one.
-
Rick,
I actually like the second shot better as well, but when I saw the first one, the storm clouds were so much better! There haven't been many times that I didn't want some blue sky :)

Jane,
Thanks so much for the visit and comments! The folder containing this shot is all from Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. My brother lives in Vegas and when I visit, I love going here to shoot. This is my second trip and I find something new each time. I've linked to the park site here: http://parks.nv.gov/parks/valley-of-fire-state-park/
It's certainly a 'must see' as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks, Joao. The sky is what really caught my eye on this shot.
I'd like to recrop and then post again but I'm afraid I'd lose the comments....

I love the texture of the rock on this photograph. Any suggestions
would be welcome!

Clive,
Thanks for the visit and comment. This is a crop of a much larger shot (below). As I took this series of shots, I was thinking more about the sky and didn't even consider different angles. It would have been very easy to kneel down......

Clive,
Thanks for the visit and comment! This is actually a crop from a larger shot, taken at an angle and when I saw the shot, the window with the one open shutter caught my eye. I wish I had taken more photos of this building.

Wow, Jim, I hadn't even noticed it before. I believe it is an outcropping of rock. I checked the image on the card and it's there, so it's not a processing glitch. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Wow - love the detail and textures of the fallen tree. Great job!
Also, I appreciate your rating my Valley of Fire shots.

Thanks, Pierre! I appreciate the visit and comment.

Jim,
Many thanks for the suggestions - and sample! I'm always amazed at what I don't see (or think about) on my shots.....
-
I keep trying with this shot..... Any suggestions?

I'd love suggestions!
