Thank you Julio,

Really nice shot - composition has a nice balance to it, and the soft background / gentle bokeh and colour contrast really emphasises the wren.

Thanks Theodore - I think there was possibly a degree of luck in this shot, I'm using trial and error on balancing shutter/aperture/flash strength/flash mode at present, and I'm finding that I can't predict the outcome too well just yet, I normally over or under expose slightly, but I'm concentrating on getting the sharpness as a start point, then stepping back to balance exposure.
This wee-fella was particularly camera friendly, changing poses frequently, pausing for flash, then re-posing, he also didn't mind the flash or me getting too close.
Thanks,
Just checked your portfolio, some fantastic wildlife photography, great shots, going to spend some time perusing and get inspired.

Just started taking photos of birds. Taken with Nikon D90 / 105mm Nikkor
f2.8 and SB-600. So I'm limited with range for the moment. I'm also new to
flash photography, so I'm currently feeling my way into this sort of
photography and balancing exposure / aperture / flash.
1/100 sec, f5.6, TTL-BL flash (slow-sync) <- From memory, I'll update with
EXIF data later.
Got 'em feeding out of my hands now

Great shot Taha - came after your comments on my small gallery page that I only noticed today. We're having difficulty getting the tits to stop fidgeting for a fraction of a second. Funnily enough, the Robins here in Northern Ireland are adapt at posing, and we've had them taking food from our hands, but not the tits. Just spent the last few minutes looking through your portfolio - really like the tree-creeper/nuthatche. Martin
