The subject is excellent and the pose very good. Personally, I would crop tigher around the model, position her to the right hand side rather than in the middle. I would also look for more contrast between the subject (model) and the background even though there is some harmony of colour that is good.

Beautifully exposed & composed shot -
Expression tells a story, that's good. Eye contact is very good. The box & (nicely cropped) balloon are a little intriguing, which is what you want. I would have placed the child a bit more to the right hand side of the frame. I like the photograph for its humble simplicity. No special lighting effects, no special make up etc. Well done. I hope you have another where the expression is full of cheer may be.

Birgit, I wish I had your eye for a good photograph. Its depth of field is right for me with a mixed series of maximum sharpness of rings and soft/polished insides. The textures make it. I like the ordered shadows as well. The square format is clearly the right format for it and the crop spot on to capture the splash of light in the foreground tube. The B&W medium suits this best, for me.
