Those prices seem low to me. I would first check out the prices on a well respected site like Adorama or B&H Photo. If another online retailer has it for much lower than what they sell it for I wouldn't go for it as it's probably too good to be true. I've heard too many horror stories to trust sites who's prices are much lower than others.
Good luck with the D90! I've had mine for almost 2 years now and love it!

So what you guys are saying is, the second shooter works for you so you should get the copyrights? If you follow this same logic then since you, as the primary shooter, are working for the bride and groom they should get the copyrights to the photos and have final say on how and where you use them. I mean they hired you and helped you get more experience.

Hello all! Happy Wednesday! My shot this week was taken last Saturday at Gasworks Park here in Seattle. Since it was sunny and warm out, and I haven't been able to get my new motorcycle yet, I decided to head down to the park with the masses of other very pale Seattlites that pop up when we have sun, and take some pictures.

"It is worth considering that if Tanya's business does get off the ground and expand, then fairly soon she will be in a position to buy photos from professional photographers."

The other side to that is, once she's in a position to buy, who do you think she is more likely to buy pictures from? The "pro" that wouldn't help her out, or the "amateur" who was willing to give? So you could say that that the "pros" are only potentially hurting themselves. Another way the "pro"could be hurting themselves is that this thread, like all others here, can be found through an internet search of your name. What if the Red Cross or some other large charitable organization or socially conscious company is considering you for a large contract and they come across this thread and see you and all these other "pros" who are not willing to help people out unless there is something offered in return? Don't you think that would hurt the "pro" industry? Maybe then they too would decide to go with photos from some "armature" who photos are just as good as yours. Just something to think about.

My #1 is hearing about "bad lens copies". If a company's QA was really that bad, they wouldn't be in business anymore.

Tanya, I just wanted to add that I don't think your request was out of line at all. Maybe if people were more willing to help each other out it wouldn't be as hard for businesses like yours to make it or for small businesses to "survive that long."
To others - The thing I don't understand is when the photographers on here go out and take pictures for the joy of taking pictures, but as soon as someone ASKS for permission to use the image all of the sudden you hear, "do you know how much time, effort, and money I've put in to these pictures?" I'm not saying give your photos to anyone who asks, but if you don't have a problem with what the person/company asking does or represents, then what's the issue? Put the ego aside, you're not special. I doubt there is a landscape picture out there that hasn't been taken before or won't be taken again.

Hello all! My picture this week is from this past Saturday when we had sun for a little while here in the Pacific Northwest. I had just recieved my new Sigma 10-20mm they day before so I was really excited to get to try it out. This was taken at Mukiltio Beach Park in Mukiltio, Wa. I love this lens!! It has great contrast, color and sharpness.

Great pictures Marco! I've seen a lot of pictures of Italian cities, but not too many of the landscape. They make me even more excited for my trip to Italy coming up in May.

I want take as many good pictures as I can when I go to Italy, in case I never get the chance to go back. I also need to photographically explore Seattle and Western Washington more. And finally, I want to learn more about using flash and strobes.

I think that everyone learns differently. Some will learn better with just one prime lens, others will learn better with a zoom lens. Some will learn better taking their time and shooting fewer pictures, some will learn better taking a lot pictures and seeing what works and what doesn't. Just because one method is best for you doesn't mean it's best for the guy next to you. To each their own.
