1. Hi

I am finally revisiting Munich after 40 years. I am going in June for a week.

I am bringing my Nikon D7200 and the Nikon 24 70 f2.8 lens as well as my 35 and 50 mm f1.8g.

Are there any picture locations that any one can recommend. I will look at Flicker for Munich, for some ideas. I could go to some places

in Munich that sell picture postcards for some picture ideas. I also have the Nikon 70-200 f4 i could bring.

Does any obe have any advise

    Thanks

  2.
Interesting thread, I have the Nikon D7200, I like it. I understand that the new Nikon J1 v5 uses the Nikon Expeed 5a. With over over 100 focus points, and many other improvements. I wonder why Nikon didn’t use that Image processor instead of the expeed 4 ?

  3.
Hi Kyle and Hector
Thanks for the response. I only have 7 days in Tokyo. I will have 2 weeks in Kyoto. I will have to buy the Nikon 14 - 24. I will look for a used one. My Nikon 24 - 70 is used.
I am probably going to take a train from Tokyo to Kyoyo. I fly out of Osaka. A rail pass is a possibility. Thanks for the thread. I will start reading it Having a Nikon with a crop sensor, the 14 - 24 is a little wide. I will definitely see MT Fuji.
I want to see a Sumo match. I will see Hiroshima also. My supervisor is from Japan, she says Kyoto is where it's at.

  4.
Hi

I am taking a trip to Tokyo and Japan in June. I will have 3 weeks there. I am interested in Photo locations that are note worthy. I like landscapes and architecture. I am sure I will visit Tokyo sky tower, for a panorama. I will be bringing my Nikon D7200 and the Nikon D7000. I want to bring my Nikon 35mm f1.8g and the Nikon 24-70 f2.8 an possibly the Nikon 70-200 f4. I will also bring my Benro travel tripod.
I could always get some picture postcards, when I get there for ideas. I know that people here have been to Japan, what were your favorite shots ? I could possibly get the Nikon 14 - 24 f2.8

Thanks

  5.
Hello,
I am going on a road trip, next week and I am putting together Shot list. I like city panoramas. I have, on my list Ellis
Island, a view of Manhattan from Hamilton park in New Jersey and a view of Manhattan from The Empire state building. I was going to check images on Flicker for DC and NYC for any ideas. Roosevelt Island tram sounds interesting as well. I can always get some ideas by looking at picture postcards when I get there. Does any one else have any standout ideas? I am going to bring my Nikon D7k and a Nikon 24 - 70 f2.8 as well as my 70 - 200 f4. I could also bring my Nikon 50mm f1.8g. I was thinking of getting Nikon 14 - 24
Thank you in advance

  6.
Hi
Thanks for the advice. I have had renters insurance in the past. At 56 years of age, I have never had a burglary, or a fire. I am not sure what a Insurance company would actually pay me, If I had my 46 inch led tv stolen? Probably not much more that fair market value, being as it is about a year and a half old, that might not be very much.
Also, most Insurance agents want to sell me car Insurance, I am real happy with my current Insurance company, that provides my car insurance.
Does anyone know what mysterious disappearance is, in regards to a Insurance policy of Camera theft?
Thank you.

  7.
HI
I am going on a road trip this Saturday. I want to get a Insurance policy for my Nikon travel kit. Has anyone used www.packagec hoice.com ? The policy would be $325.00/year to cover about $5K in my small Nikon Kit. I am only an amateur photographer. I have read the other posts here on Camera insurance, I don't see any feed back on this insurance company. Their insurance policy does not cover mysterious disappearance. I would have a $500.00 deductible. they say that they insure 5K Photographers. The policy would also cover accidental drop. It would be nice to have drop insurance, Although i have not dropped any thing yet.
Thanks for any help

  8.
Hi
I am going on the Trans Siberian Railroad in June. I have the Nikon D7k and the Nikon 35, 50,85 afs 1.8g lenses. I am starting the trip in Moscow and will end up in Beijing. I am considering the Nikon 14 - 24 f2.8 or the Nikon 24 - 70 f2.8 Has anyone gone on a long train trip? What camera and lens setup did you use? I sold the Nikon 35 - 70 F2.8 D, I miss not having a mid range zoom. Any advice is welcome.

thanks
9. Wonderful pictures, excellent. I purchased a Gitzo gm 2561t. I will bring my Nikon 35mm 70 mm f2.8 d zoom also. I am

really looking forward to this.some day I will do the Inca trail hike, this time I am taking the train. I will have a 7 hour

    layover in San Salvador.

  10. Hi

I will be traveling to Machu Picchu in September. I have a Nikon D90 camera. I have a Nikon 12 24 mm f4 wide zoom, the 35 mm 50 mm

and the 85mm Nikon lens all f1.8g.

I have a Benro tripod and a monopod, I could bring. What lens did anyone use at MP, with good results. I am thinking of getting the

Nikon 28mm f 1.8g.I know that tripods may not be allowed in MP. Some of the other threads on MP are a few years old. I will be taking

the train. Does anyone have any sound advice?

  11.
Thank you for your posts. I like technology that is one step behind the leader. You can usually get a proven performer for a big discount in price. I agree the 28 - 70mm wont make a me a better photographer. I have a Manfrotti table tripod. I had a Pentax KM 35 mm film camera. I still have it. I had a 50mm f1.8 lens and a Tokina 80 - 200mm zoom. The lesson I got from that camera, was to get the best lens, that I could afford. The thing about getting a real good lens is, it seems that there is one less problem to go wrong with the image.

  12.
HI
I have the Nikon D90. I also have the Nikon 35 - 70 f2.8 D, I am considering upgrading to the Nikon 28mm - 70mm f2.8. The reviews on the net are generally favorable for the Nikon 28 - 70mm f2.8. Does any one have an opinion on how improved the Image quality would be? How much of a difference in Image quality is the Nikon 24 - 70 f2.8 over the Nikon 28 - 70 f 2.8?

Thanks
13.
HI
I am planning to visit Rome Italy in September for 2 weeks. I have a Nikon D90 and the Nikon 35mm f1.8g afs lens. I also have the Nikon 50mm f1.8 and a Nikon 105mm f.18 (older model), I also have the Nikon 35mm - 70 mm zoom (older model). Can some one recommend a wide zoom? I am thinking about getting the Nikon 12mm 24mm f4. I am hesitant at bring something expensive into Rome, due to the theft risk. This will be my 5th trip to Europe and 2nd into Rome. I would like to bring only 2 lenses.
Thanks for any help.

  14.
HI
I am planning a 3 week Europe trip. I will be visiting 4 countries. I am planning on bring my Nikon d90 along with me. I have the pacsafe, carrysafe 100 (camera strap) as well as one of their money belts. This will be my 4th Europe trip. I have not had any thing stolen on any of my prior trips. Does any one have any experience with keeping camera equiptment safe on a long trip? I also have a Nikon D70, that I could bring instead of the Nikon D90.

Thanks for any advise
