  1. Trying out a "new" Walzflex TLR.

I was sitting on top of a dolmen in Aero island/Denmark trying to

look as if no camara was within range and failing miserably.

Also making the cardinal mistake of posing with the sun in my face

and using Fuji Velvia 50. Oh, well. At least I go this lovely

contrast (and the sky looks OK too :D)<div>00CdUV-24281384.jpg.229d97e22fff9aaa3c34aa8c2214ddb9.jpg</div>

  2. Jeffrey,

I've bought the Microtek version of the 1800 about 6 months ago. It has performed flawlesly up to now, with no jams, software crashes, etc. The important thing is to remember to switch it on before you switch on the computer, otherwise it will not operate.

As for the quality, it is average, but at the price you cannot expect miracles. I never use the software sharpening options since they degrade the image. I, also found out that Velvia does not scan well and you need to work on thinner images if you shoot Velvia for scanning.

All in all I am quite satisfied with it and the results are acceptable. Considering the price I would also say that it is a very good buy.

For scaning I use the bundled software (Vuescan) to save the images and then work on them with PS. However if you want you can ignore it and use whatever program has an acguire option.

  3. I have recently bought a second hand Calumet C2N 6X7 roll film back.

Unfortunately the acetate mask that comes with the back is not there.

Any advise on how to mark the frame on the ground glass will be

greatly appreciated. Or if someone has the acetate and can scan it

please let me know. I think I can print it on acetate and cut it to

    the right size.

    Thanks.

  4. Mark, thanks for the quick reply. I was at their site and luckily they have a branch in Europe. This will save me some postage money.

Now the only thing is to go home and check the dimensions of the foam on the F3.

BTW this shop looks great. They seem to have almost anything under the sun, so they will probably be getting quite a lot of orders from me (I have quite a few old cameras that need tinkering).

  5. Does anyone know of a place where I can order some light tight foam

for my F3. I need to replace the foam at the back of the camera as

well as the mirror damping foam. Both are getting sticky and come off

    if you touch them.

    Any ideas?

  6. I am a regular reader of Outdoor Photographer and when I read of their death I was shocked. His was the first article I would read whenever I got the magazine and he was a great influence on the way I saw each and every scene. He will be greatly missed but he will live through his books and photos.
  7. Having read all the answers I think I can now formulate my response to any poor soul that dares ask any questions.

I thing that having a shotgun tied to the legs of the tripod and set on auto fire while I swing it like a madman and at the same time pinning bussiness cards and info leaflets on the piled bodies will do the job. It will land me also a number of clients (and I will not worry that they might run away). Of course all the time I have to keep a sharp watch for any light changes that might distract me from educating the locals.

  8. I too have used similar tricks, but recently I bought an in line viewer. You just clamp it on the GG and do not need to bother with a darkcloth.

Not the best solution (if you need to use a loupe) but makes life a lot easier.
