    I, too, am just beginning in photography. I found it most useful to take pictures in "auto" mode, then I would look at the EXFI data in my photo processing software to see what settings the camera had used to take the pictures. If I felt it was a "good" picture, I would make note of the f stop, the shutter setting and the ISO speed. Same if it was a "bad" picture. This way you learn what the different settings mean. I've done this and am now using Aperture priority mode. It's kind of a way to learn "backwards", but it has worked well for me. Good Luck! </p>
