I would have to agree with William Porter with an additional point. Know your budget, but remember that you will also need to figure in to the price you are paying the cost to get the final product you want. Will they only provide a CD of images and you have to pay out of pocket to get prints? Does cost only cover shooting the event, and then you have to buy prints at an additional cost from the photographer? Do they provide x number of prints? All prints? What sizes? Any print credit to order some prints at no cost?
Sometimes comparing pricing is not as easy as "1 is less than 2". Sometimes the extras you have to add to 1 to end up with the final product you want cost more than if you just went with 2 in the first place.

I would take a look at the free web site creation software SiteGenWiz. Extremely simple to use, creates the whole site, and has a built-in gallery function. Just search google for it.

"And the final album is personally reviewed by Denis."

This type of line always makes me think of the old ad line "Hospital tested". Doesn't mean that the hospital liked or approved of it. So what if Dennis reviews the album. Doesn't mean that they will all be done up to what his personal higher standard may be. May just look at it and say 'good enough'.

Funny. Actually I got fed up with some of the scam emails I was getting that I decided to open a new email address, trytoripyouoff@...., and started responding. I couldn't believe it when they would respond back to try and continue the scam. So of course I had to email back that I couldn't believe they hadn't died yet and that I really need them to send the money before they are buried or burned.

I know that a few photographers here have posted about having their equipment stolen, so when I saw the latest gadget from Gary Fong, I thought I would post a comment here about it. (I'm in no way affiliated with GF or the product, just thought it might be helpful to some here.) It is a GearGuard security plate and cover that attaches to the tripod mount screw hole, that in turn allows you to use a cable lock to keep your camera from wondering off without you. It can be found on his site and doesn't really cost very much.

"I'm frequently amazed at what works to get people to buy stuff."

You mean like buying a 4G phone when most markets don't have 4G service?

I got tired of getting all of the scam emails, that I decided to write back to some of them. Didn't want to use my email address, so went to a popular free email site, and registered a new one... trytoripyouoff@.... Believe it or not, they still respond and want me to send money. My favorite is the 'I only have # months to live' Those I tell that I can't believe they are still alive and that better send me the money before they are buried six feet under. Best one are the ones addressed to my account name Rip U Off.

In my area, some of these Craigs list low low priced photographers offer 2 shooters, unlimited coverage, album, enlargements, and CD. Really makes me wonder if they are paying taxes or just doing this on the side.

There is a difference between buying a CD or downloading a song from iTunes and using it for commercial purposes. Ade may have bought the rights to use the song on the site, if so great.

Off Subject:

Isn’t it kind of ironic that you have “© 2009. All images are copyright protected. Images shall not be used without permission.” at the bottom of the your page while you use Shania Twain music for your galleries? Isn’t that a violation of the Shania’s copyright?
