1.
After getting tired of using 7D for wedding events I got another 5D Mark II last week. Now with pair of 5D II's I am happy with shooting.. 3200 ISO with fast L primes just super cool. Thought to wait for 5D mark III but not worth till the time using 7D. Saying this I am not trying to throw 7D out of equation. As said 7D is good to go upto 400 ISO in low light.

  2.
Thanks every one for your kind suggestions. Pl find the attached 100% cropped image for reference. The problem of high noise is only in indoors that too with low light. Not on outdoor if available light is abundant. I shot Air Show pics and some of Zoo life images. They're tack sharp. Barely noticeable noise at 400 ISO. I'd like to hear about ISO performance at 100 from anyone shot event like wedding with 7D. I've no issues with 5D Mark II at all. Combination of 5D Mark II with prime lens gives me stunning result even at 3200 ISO and with zoom like 70-200 I limit to 2000 to retain image sharpness not loosing much.

  3.
I use both camera bodies for events and switch lens on both of them. I noticed the noise level at ISO 100 in 7D is higher than 5D mark II with the same same lens (Basically I lack image sharpness). For (ex) I used 24-70mm f2.8 L lens on both bodies at focal length 24mm f5.0 and 1/125 Subject distance is almost the same probably 7 - 10 feet. I find the difference using other lens too like 70-200mm f2.8L IS. Is there any technical difference or an issue that I need to check. Pl help me with your suggestions.

  4.
Consider going for GITZO travel tripod which is sturdy and extremely light in weight for travel compared to other models. It's expensive but worth the price. You'll get what you thought it suppose to do.

  5.
I use the same combination of Canon 7D with 100-400 f4.5 - 5.6 L for telephoto needs. I had the same question before buying the lens it performs awesome so far and no issues I found till date. The best result you'd achieve be at f7.1 - f11 and at focal range between 200 - 350mm in terms of crisp and sharp detail.

00YV1d-344559584.jpg.fc89005e957ef488c5d0d8f61f6f77bf.jpg

  6.
I agree with Ian. I've both 70-200m f2.8 IS and 85mm f1.2 I'd prefer 85 f1.2 over the zoom for it's incredible clarity even at high ISO. I am not too much into flash photography. Mostly I avoid using flash when doing events. The best way for me is to fix 85mm to my 5DII, set ISO above 3200 and go on with the shoot happily. On the other end 70-200mm when wide open at f2.8 images are quite soft and so at 200mm.

I use 580 EX-II and I encountered the same problem then I went thru the manual and there are functions which you have to set based on application. for (ex) in 580-EX-II function "01" is the first function which can be set as either 0 or 1. If we set to 0 then it'd automatically turn off when not used for some time interval. so I set the parameter to 1 which enabled continuous "ON" even when unused. This helps when using with radio trigger. I've not used pentax pl refer the manual of flash to set the parameter. Hope this helps.

  8.
Thanks peter jack and umesh for your comments.. Actually I didn't like the pane shades on the wall and on the chair either.. I should have used lighting controls or modifiers to avoid the shades. I liked Jack's version and the cropped version of umesh is nice too..

  9.
I tried low key light photography I'd like to hear what pro's says and would like to improve.. I used 2
580EX- II flash one flash place next to the window pane (next to the wall) and another one placed at 45 deg to the left side of subject Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I am glad to hear the negative one's first.. Thanks in advace for your time.

00W6U8-232585584.jpg.3eaea8c83f434e2c16082766fdbc375f.jpg

  10.
Thanks robert for your comments.. Acutally I didn't like the pane shades that's noticeable on the wall and the chair either.. I just wanted the panes shades on the face. I didn't use any lighting controls or modifiers. Probably I might of got a better results if I'd used cutters.

  12.
Somnath Do not get pulled down just because your image is not critiqued. Some times it takes time for people to recognize your work it's depends on one's eye. The Image which looks great for one may not be the same for other. Try to improve your creativity which is more important as a backbone for your photography skills.. There are skilled photographers who has done amazing job even with point and shoot and entry level dSLR's The key to photography is lighting composition and subject than shutter speed, aperture and ISO. check out the pics in this site that you originally thought to do like... If the image is so impressive ask the photographer how he was able to achieve it. Keep learning and trying... It's a repetition process till you see your desired result..
