Thank you Johanna for sharing this picture.  Sometimes, a picture doesn't have to be 100% perfect to be 100% great.  Yours, along with your story, brings back good feelings and remind me the smile I had while looking for the first time at all the details of the different scenes painted on those bricks.

I live in the province of Quebec, 2 hours away from Quebec City, and I agree with you, this is a great artwork.  Last time I saw this building, my wife and I were cycling with our two young kids enjoying the ride in the trailer.  Every year I have to visit the "Vieux-Québec"; it has something so magical, especially during the Winter Carnival.

My little 4 years old Elisabeth said "WOW" believing it was Disney's Tinkerbell.  This reminds me of an artist on deviantart.com who was illustrating scenes of old Nintendo games like Mario Bros and Metroids.

Personally, I say it's an amazing piece of art.
