Any suggestions how to replicate this Iconic Portrait

I have the Model and the Seat !!

Would this be close

Gridded Soft Box Camera left at 45 Angle above / boomed

Max Sync Speed to kill any Ambient Light

Or Would a Beauty Dish Socked be more useful ?
No Experience in using One ? But I can borrow one

Would reflector Camera left or a Snooted Speedlift as a Hairlight
behind the Models Left be an Option

Any Ideas etc most appreciated

Many thank
John , Cork, Ireland

I love the BW Portraits taken by Russell James on Episode 1 Cycle 16 of Americas Next Top Model
Especially the image of Angelia.
Can anyone offer any advice on getting this High key effect
presume it might something like
Duplicate layer with Curves to lighten the skin , to become more Pale
and then a layer mask to bring back the dark hair again
Or am I missing something
Thanks, John, Ireland

Anyone know if the Canon 5d has the capacity to do something like this
and if anyone knows how its done
Other than a tripod and fast forward processing option etc
Thanks

Not sure if this Question is submitted to the right Section, but hopefully someone will be able to help me, Anyway I love my Canon 5D11 and Canon Raw software that comes with it. Maybe someone can advised me the purpose of the Linear box , I realise checking this box darkens the Image, but What the practical purposes of the application ?
The Canon website does in fairness give a good DPP Tutorial on its Site, but as far as I know theres little or no mention of the Linear option box etc
Thanks
John, Cork Ireland
Wishing all you Stateside Guys and Girls out there a great Thanksgiving Tomorrow

Any idea if it is possible to recreate a scene like this with the Canon 5D MK 11
I suppose what I am asking is,
Is it possible to use off Camera Speedlights via Triggers in Movie Mode
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQi4JMNA-00&list=HL1402667833&feature=mh_lolz
From the Movie 'The Conjuring' , Basically from 1.35 onwards, Very Scary
ie . The Mom is in the basement the Match burns out and the Demon appears for a split second behind her, so My thinking is, the off Camera Speedlight might light the Demon
What ya Reckon
Is there any important considerations regarding, ISO, FPS, Colour Temp etc or the use of Gels
Many thanks
John, Cork, Ireland
J
