1.
The camera only malfunctions in manual mode. I tried to shoot a hail storm during the late afternoon (there was still plenty of nature light). I shot ISO 200 f/5 500 but the meter was reading -2 which I thought was rather odd. I tried a variety of settings and they all read -2. I inspected the lens and didn't see anything wrong. Then I changed to AV mode, TV mode, and P mode. All these modes rendered the correct exposure. Manual did not. I feel like something is wrong with the camera but I'm not sure if I need to take it to a store or if it's something I can fix. Have you ever heard of this happening to any DSLR?

 2.
Thanks for your help Michael but unfortunately you just don't seem too understand. The problem is not how to set the EV value. The problem is that it's not responding. If there is anyone who has experienced this before with a Canon 20D - please share your experience. Thanks.

 3.
Hi: Today I got my camera to take some shots of a hail storm from my garage. I went to test the lighting and noticed that my exposure was -2. I tried to adjust this but it remained at -2. I took a shot anyway and long behold it was completely dark. I tried other settings and they all worked fine but manual was underexposed no matter how I set the camera. Is anyone familiar with this problem? At first I thought I must of unknowingly dropped my camera (it's always in my backpack) but all of the other modes were capturing images.

Thank you for your help!

 4.
Hello,
I took this photo at my brothers wedding a few weeks ago. I don't have a flash and the lighting was dim at the ceremony so my shutter speed was a little slow. The lamp to the left of the bride is overexposed and distracting. I tried a couple things in photoshop but because it's completely blown-out I can't retrieve any detail. What is the best way to decrease the intensity of the lamp?

 5.
Yes, but then the pixel dimension changes. I am trying to print a small size of what the image quality would look like with A (100 dpi, px dimension 3504 X 2336), and B ( 300dpi, px dimension 10500 x 7000). Both A and B 35x23 in size. Imagine a 35X23 box with setting A. I want to cut a small box out of that big box so it maintains the same settings. Do you know how I can do this?

 6.
I have taken photos of a friend's artwork so she could produce reprints. It turns out that my camera, a Canon 20D 8MP, can not produce the image size she wants at a high resolution. She wants to be able to print 35X23 and still maintain 300 dpi. Of course this is not possible with my camera.
I took an image that is originally 14x9, 240dpi, and px dimension 3504 X 2336. Without resampling the dpi is 100 at 35x23. When resampling the image with 300 dpi the pixel dimensions increases to 10500 X 7000 at 35x23. I want to print a small section of these images (with the two image settings I mentioned above) and compare image quality.
When I crop without setting hight, width, or dpi I lose my settings.
When I crop with setting the hight, width, and dpi the area I cropped amplifies.
When I searched this topic and others related to it I couldn't find what I was looking for.
Please, how can I make this happen?

 7.
I took this shot last night at f/20 and am fairly happy with it since I am a beginner. It bothers me because I feel like it should be more symmetric and maybe not so dark although it is a night shot. Also, I would try to decrease the yellow pavement in the foreground. How should I go about that?

00UG9y-166454084.jpg.5a01110486bd3828bf8676d11f855e51.jpg

 8.
I have used the perspective crop tool before but for some reason tonight it was not enabled on the crop options bar. I did 45 minutes of research online and in "CS3 Classroom in a Book" but no where did it directly say how to re-enable the perspective option -- it only warned me it could be disabled.
I also tried to open photoshop at its default; no luck.
The only thing I have gathered is that the "delete option" (?) was turned on therefore hiding the perspective checkbox.
This is starting to crawl under my skin, any help is always appreciated. THANK YOU! :)

 9.
I recently had I client which I took photos of her art work to be put up online. After touching them up in photoshop I saved them for web and deivces. In this menu I was only allowed to convert my psd files into gif; there was no jpg option. (I also tried SAVE AS but the jpg option was not there) For this particular assignment it seemed ok to use gif because most of the images were black and white so I wasn't losing much color. She loved the psd files but was not so keene on the gif files.
How do I convert these files to JPEG?

 10.
thanks for all your help. As I said before I am new to (professional) photography and will be "testing the waters" over the next year. The plan is to jump in next wedding season. Based on what everyone has said I do plan on purchasing the more expansive/better quality lens.

 11.
hello everyone,
I am new to the intricacies of photography but it has always been my passion. I decided I wanted to break into wedding photography but I have a lot of work to do.
I am on a limited budget and want to buy a new 70-200mm . A few people have told me that I need to buy an expensive lens to use for wedding photography. How much does the quality differ from a 3 -5 hundred dollar lens vs. a 3 - 5 thousand dollar lens?
I always thought I could still make great images regardless. Is this not the case?
