1.
Yes, the capacitors yeild high voltage and are able to hold their charge for around 30 years. ...definitely impressive and dangerous if you are not in the know.

Here is the follow up to my initial post. I removed all of the screws in preparation of dissassembling the flash and having a look around. However, once all of the screws were out, the housing was loose but would not come apart for me. Instead of forcing it and breaking something I decided to wait until I heard back from someone online. While I was waiting I randomly banged the flash head in my hand while it was turned on and "clicking" at me. One of the bangs knocked whatever had been displaced back into it's proper fit and the flash is now working 100% and reliably. I am a happy camper and while I can't take credit for fixing anything I definitely am giving credit to the guy upstairs. :)

I know the flash is outdated, but certainly not worthless. I have 5 flashes (24's, 25, 26, & 28) which I use as ultra portable, ultra inexpensive location kit. I bought each one for $30 and they're magnificient. They allow me to literally travel with one camera bag containing my camera, the five flashes, and a bundle of stands quickly and easily. I would be a bit sad to lose one of them, though not out a significant amount of cash.

 2.
One of my SB-24's fell to the ground. Yeah, I panicked internally for a moment.
Here's the symptoms and the problem I am hoping can be fixed. When the flash is turned on there is a repetitive clicking sound coming from the top compartment (rotatable part) of the flash. If I rotate the head randomly for a moment it will occasionally find it's "happy place", quit making noise and the capacitor will build it's charge which will allow the flash to fire. Then the issue starts again from the beginning.
What do you believe the issue & remedy could be? Do capacitors make noise if they are not working properly or is it more likely that it is some other part within the flash that has been knocked around inside?
Your help is appreciated.

 3.
Hi everyone, I am a new face around this site and this is my first post. I look forward to both gaining insight and giving back to others in areas of knowledge that I can be of useful help.

Here's my question. I am putting together a summer business-plan that centers around setting up and shooting images of contestants participating in various contests over the next few months.

The general game plan thus far is to come to an agreement with the company putting on the contests that awards them a kick back off of each image sale. There are a few other caveats that are beneficial to both the host company and myself, but the real issue of interest for me right now is determining what further steps can be taken on-site to boost sales potential.

Are there incentives that can be provided to increase sales numbers?

In regards to on-site printing, I am not opposed to it but I have read numerous online accounts of others who have gone that route only to stumble upon increased sales after giving up on-site printing.

What are you guys doing?
What are your thoughts?

All The Best,
Me
