Classic excellence. The interactions and introspections in a marching band- not often seen it seems in photos anyway.
-
I like the opposing eye contact- jockey on left sizing up his competition, horse
on right sizing up the other horse. Not to mention the immediacy conveyed by
the wide angle and composition.
-
Marvelous moment- the connection and look are captivating.
-
Awesome subject and lighting..composition, etc.

The way the hair is arranged contrasting with the dark blue garb is awesome! Nice work.
-
That is an tunnel/bridge with a lot of visual character, and I love the contrasting colors and time lapse.
-
That's beautiful.

As mentioned before, Richard Avedon pioneered this concentration on the subject with a white background. This one however doesn't have character.
-
Boring and cold, too clinical. Plus, I've seen this sort of portrait work done before- the blank white background deal. By a famous photographer back in the day whose name eludes me, but I'm sure others know who it is. This famous photog did it more successfully since there was more conveyance from the subjects usually.

I too like the cropping on the sides, and the emphasis on those striking eyes. Good job!

This was taken at an airport in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It's currently being flown to airshows around the country by a retired Air Force General I believe. "GUNFIGHTER"

Yes indeed, 5000 year old trees merit some serious photography. I saw the program on PBS about these:

I too would like to get some photos of them, perhaps this summer. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments! This is from a negative scan. I printed it last night in my darkroom, and burned the sky in nicely, some of the hot spots mentioned, but didn't need to dodge the tree in the foreground since in a print the resolution was higher and it was more in focus. Does make me curious about playing with dodging to make it pop out a bit more in print though. I dodged the tree in this scan a bit, which helped.

She's a gorgeous subject, and I like the moment. Nice catch!

Interesting input, thanks. The negative shows the top paper's edge which I think reduces this photo's ambiguity of form more.

Maybe a more scenic surrounding and a more shallow depth of field, but certainly a
beautiful model and clothing.
