1.
Thank you, Rob Bernhard

I'm sure there is nothing covering the flash, and this problem occur every time I turn on the flash. I just took 3 more photos. I set the camera to Auto-mode, same light condition.

1. Flash-on (too dim)

2. Flash-on (Over exposure)

3. Flash-off (every thing is fine, but the shutter speed will be slow, of course :) )

 2.
Hi everyone.

I bought a Nikon CoolPix S6000 over a year ago, every thing is fine until now, It's doesn't flash correctly (when ever I turn flash mode to AUTO, RED-EYE Reduction...), the picture shot with flash-on will be like these:
#1: Over-exposure.

or #2: The flash doesn't flashing correctly.

I've tried to:
- Reset the camera to default setting
- Using another SD cards
- Re-install the firmware (still v1.1 FW)

I don't know how to solve this problem, now I've to turn the flash of OFF when shooting photos. Please help. Thank you very much.

 3.
I appriciated all your answers, at last I deciced to go with 17-40L, My friend gave me the 17-40L to use it for a few days. And I lovee it's optic-quality and built quality though it isn't wide enough for me. But still considering the Tokina 12-24mm in nearly future.
Thanks again.

 4.
In my opinion, when a manufacturer had invested a large amount of cash to build a BRAND (in this case: 1D is Canon's treasure for sure), they won't and never stop using it, or change that brand name to a different one.
Maybe, when some body telling you that, he/she using 1D....wow...that 1D words is really, really smooth, powerful....right?

 5.
Holding 1000D body without a grip attached, for me it seems too small, very hard to hold the camera still in some situations (ex: Low light...), if plus a Canon grip around 130$, I don't think it a good deal.
I'm using a used 20D, and really love it. But if you're serious on photography or you have more than your budget, pls go with the 30D so you can use it for at least 2 years more instead of changing the Camera body. The 20D or 30D itself big enough to use without have to buy a grip, and it's built quality quite better than 1000D (Metal vs Plastic)
I bet you'll change the camera body in a few months later if you buy the 1000D. Lot of my friends purchased the 1000D, then them all changed to xxD Camera series.

 6.
I'm having same question with you, Matthew. for true, it's so hard to pick up 1 of those ultra-wide lenses.
Hi Thomas McKown: I've tried the same 5D + 17-40L, I love it: Ultra-wide, great optical quality and...feel good in hand.
If my budget is enough, I go with EOS 5D + 17-40L without have any concern.

 7.
My friend just offered me to get his 17-40mm L len with price at 550$, (the one that I tried on EOS 5D before). I love the optical quality of the 17-40L but for my Crop-body, it seem to lacking the wide-end.
I'm living in Vietnam, prefer buy used len and I don't want to buy online (Usually I come directly to some shops in town to purchase, in this case I only can buy Canon 10-22mm or Tokina 12-24mm F4 directly from them).
May be I would asking some of my buddy if they have any ultra-wide lenses to try first before I decided to buy.

 8.
I've own a Tamron and Sigma len before but it's built quality disapointed me after using it for 5 months

I've owned a Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 Len and a Sigma 18-200mm len, after using it for 5 moth I have some bad experiens on those:
1. Zoom ring: Very tight, hard to rolate.
2. Rubber-shield-ring outside the len (Sorry, I don't know how to called it in English): Not attached tight to len-body. I have to hold it very hard to zoom-in or zoom-out.

 9.
Thank you for all your supports, after all I have some choices here:
1. Canon 10-22mm F3.5-4.5 USM: = $620.
2. Tokina 12-24mm F4: $420

With $200 more if I buy the Canon 10-22mm, what is the best deal between 2 lens? I've read some reviews for both lens (Included Bob Atkins' review), it's really hard to choose.
Once again, I'll use this ultra-wide len for mainly shooting landscape, image distortion can cause problem for me. Which one have less distortion on wide-end?

 10.
Thank you, I was considering to purchase a new wide-angle len since my friend gave me a try on his EOS 5D + 17-40mm L len, I have big suprise with his stuffs, It really, really wide. Then I put his 17-40L len onto my 20D body, the view & the picture just same as my 20D + 24-85mm Len.
According to your recommends, a Ultra-wide len like Caon EF-S 10-20mm, Sigma 10-20mm or a Tokina len will be my choice, but with 600$ what is the best len to get?
Base on Price/Image quality/Built quality? (I've own a Tamron and Sigma len before but it's built quality disapointed me after using it for 5 months)

 11.
Hi
Now I'm using Canon EOS 20D with Canon EF 24 -85mm f/3.5 -4.5 USM, I'm pleased with it. For walk-around and potrait, EF 24-85mm is fine for me. But beside that, I'm loving to shoot lanscape and sometimes the EF 24-85mm is not wide enough to capture the view that I want to get.
I have 2 questions here, please help. I appriciate your answers.
1. What is the real focal length of EF 24-85mm Len when I mounted it on to my EOS 20D (crop-body), because some of my friends tell me: Actually it's not 24-85mm.
2. I'm considering to purchase a new wide-len (Canon made, Second-hand).
- Focal length should be as wide as possible.

- My budget is around 600USD
- I will use this for landscape only, so doesn't need to be a fast-len.

Thanks for your helps.

 12.
Hi
Now I'm using a Canon 20D, everytimes after shooting I put it into the dry box. But my concern is:
1. Should I remove the Len and Battery from the Body?
2. Do I need to recharge the battery fully after shooting?
I appriciate your answers!

 13.
Yoshio Tanaka-san

 14.
Thanks so much for reply, Yoshio! Could you tell me more information from the Lady you sold 20D for? How could she avoid/solved this problem? is she sent it to Canon for service? or she did some thing else?
I have 3 CF cards
- 256MB Lexar
- 1GB Transcend 133x
- 2GB Transcend 133x

They works perfectly!

 15.
Thanks Yoshio!

Hi Chris, I've did as you said, but still can't upgrade/rewrite the firmware, still stucked in message "CF card containing the firmware is required to update" !
Images still corrupted! I need to find out what coused to this problem. I appreciate any comments/responds!

 16.
Thanks Jeff!
1. My EOS 300D had different issue (Can't change Menu language to English, only CHINESE....bla bla..)
2. Shoot with JPEG Mode:
- View on Camera: display "Corrupted Data" Message, no histogram, can't zoom!
- View on PC: Just like my first picture in this thread.
3. Shoot with RAW Mode:
- View on Camera: Fine, both histogram & zoom in, out. It'ok
- View on PC: only Black image.
4. Can't upgrade/rewrite the firmware ! D*** it.

 17.
Thanks William! I've followed correctly step-by-step inductions from Canon! The firmware file is store correctly on root directory of CF card through Card Reader.
First time, My EOS 300D have problem with 1.0.2 firmware, then I used a differrent version 1.0.2 to rewrite! and succeed!

 18.
I always formated CF card on 20D. When ever I shoot in Low, Med, Hi JPEG, RAW....it still ocurrs.
I'm wondering if it is Firmware problem, My firmware now is 2.0.3, I've download the same (2.0.3) version from CANON website (http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eos20d/eos20d_firmware-e.html)
I want to replace the current firmware on 20D, but when trying to upgrade/rewrite, it only show a message like this:
This will stay forever, I could not turn-off the camera. Swith the power to off, Pull-off the Batterry, then put it back is only way to get out of this screen.
19.
I'm just bought used Canon EOS 20D last week, now I had this kind of trouble.
When I shot in JPEG mode, after few shot, I got "Corrupted Data" error message on 20D. When I transfer those "corrupted data" images from CF card to my PC, I only see this (the numnails in red circle):

I've read a topic in this forum, some people blaimed for CF card's issue! But I have 3 CF cards (Transcend 133X), each card put on to my 20D still have the "Corrupted Data" problem!
Firmware on 20D is v2.0.3! Please help me on this, I don't know what caused this problem.
Thanks for your help.
