1.
Exploring options for the same situation (need to travel with 17" + DSLR + pro lenses) and here are my 2c, which might help:
1) http://www.ThinkTankPhoto.com has some really good stuff ! Looks like will buy something from them.
2) This one looks cool too: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/683311-REG/Crumpler_CL_03_01A.html

 2.
I am amateur photographer and use Samsung SyncMaster 305T for about three years already. Fantastic display, I am completely satisfied with its performance, colors and huge working area. I use profile downloaded from manufacturer's site and it works better than those I've created using Spyder 2 calibrator. Very convenient for processing photos. It is also ok for HD movies and action games.

 3.
Hmmm... where to disappeared information about total number of ratings and my average rating I have received so far ? Before it could be found under "View your community member page and posting history" link but now I do not see it there ? Please, clarify.

 4.
Didn't find proper place to place my suggestion. It is related to "Rate Photos" function. Probably, it could be a good idea to add "Quality" criterea, since sometimes we can see photo with nice aesthetics and very original but not in focus or with some other technical errors, so you don't know actually how to express this in two existing rates only...

 5.
Could sound like a silly question and I still hope for some brilliant ideas in replies :)
There is only one orientation mark on 70-200 2.8L tripod collar - for horizontal orientation. When I want to put lens+camera to vertical position, I have to trust my own eyes. Works ok for me but probably there is some good and reliable way to make exact mark on the collar for vertical position too ?
Thanks in advance !

 6.
Folks, many thanks for your quick answers and still let me try to clarify the situation a bit. Strictly speaking, since nothing was signed beforehand as it should be, then our whole photosession may be considered as a time spent together for fun ! Though I am not going to let ladies down and will supply them with materials promised.
The whole story for me looks like the road I am going through for the very first time ! I do not even have solid workflow - from first meeting till closing the deal (and sorry to say this and eager to make such a workflow for myself).
Now, while I can handle other parts of the whole process, I am interested in a legal part of the process and, please, get me right - ONLY because I want to do things right and not because this was requried by any participating part. Yes, this is reality in my part of the world and I want to change it and make things right from the very beginning.
Just to illustrate the situation... Imagine as if friend have asked me to help him with photo for his CD cover. I said 'yes' and made these photos. Then I might tell him that in a "real" world of photbusiness we would have to sign such-n-such papers. So my question is - which ones ?!
So, what I am looking here is a sort of a link or basic tutorial about this legal part of the workflow. If you say there are plenty of info on the forum, then ok, I'll dig it up myself. I just hoped that somebody experienced could throw at me some sort of short and step-by-step description with samples... Well, miracle didn't happen :) so I will digg the whole thing myself.
Anyway, many thanks for trying to help me and for ref to Dan Heller's site ! Plenty of info to learn...

 7.
I had my first commercial shooting with a beginner ladies band (singers). Now I want to know what kind of docs or agreements do I have to sign with them so I can freely post my photos and prove that these photos were made by me (just in case). Initially my shooting was for the creation of their CD cover. Thanks in advance for your kind attention.

 8.
Louis,
Many thanks for your brilliant words shared here ! I have found myself in a situation close to Tom's one and after reading your ideas think that I have the right direction now. No additional gear will make me better, but your 4P will definetly help me on my way. With your permission, I have added them to my bio not to forget :) Once again, many thanks !

 9.
Just in case anybody won't understand what to do with the links in my previous post...
You should adjust your monitor so that you do see each letter, representing color. I.e. if you can't see 'R' clearly than adjust your monitor (either through on-screen menu or using Windows calibration tools) so that you do see it. When you see all three letters then you can be more or less sure that your monitor shows colors correctly and in a balanced way.
