This is nice - I like the simplicity of the subject and the colour and stillness of the water is magic. It is almost surreal. Well done.

Thoughts welcome - especially on white areas - how can the balance be achieved

between exposure for the rest and blow out on the white?

  1. This is a strange perspective - fun to experiment. I'm not sure what I think. I feel like I'm falling over, and I want to turn my head a little to straighten the picture out a little. Not much, just a little. Hmm, don't know if it works or not, I think it nearly does. But if it were to change, how much change would it need to work? It's a good fun shot. Thanks for trying it.

The feature of this photograph is the flowering plant in the middle. It may have been better placement for the plant to be more in the front bottom third and let it draw your eye down the fence line. Other than that, the fence is a great subject.
  2. My office is not this colourful or interesting. I think the only button I'd like to push in this setting is the same one that got the image in the first place - a camera one. Nice work. Gives a great insight and encourages some imagination as a viewer.

I feel like I need to put my glasses on to see the foreground properly. Good to capture the sun beaming through, but with the foreground being out of focus it is hard to view. With something so close in the foreground I would focus well on it, and let the background have its own place. Otherwise I would find a position to take the background without the foreground and enjoy the wider view.

    P.I.P...

The detail in the leaves and flower sit nicely against the background. The lighting of the subject works well too - in sync with the darker background. I like.

kids are difficult to get. I try to talk to mine as I sit behind the camera and get them to tell me a story about something. It keeps them from pulling faces and they look at me while they talk then. Sometimes they even have a smile on their faces. Then the finger stays on the shutter release. Somewhere in all that you end up with something usable.

You've done well to get this one. In focus (not always easy with targets that are constantly moving), nice colours and tones, and great faces. Exposure and composition all just right.
