1.
The sculptor whose work I am to photograph is E.M. Viquesney. I am not commissioned to do this shoot, it is a personal project. One statue is "The Spirit of the Doughboy". This piece is displayed in front of the courthouse in my town. The other works are in a small museum in town. There are other pieces stored in a building that was build by Viquesney. Some of these images will be on display in the chamber of commerce and others in the local art guild. They are mainly for display, but I will have a price for purchase of my work.

 2.
I have an opportunity to photograph a collection of statues made by a local artist from the early 20th century. My question is: Do I need some form of release to sell the resulting catalog?

If there is any other information you need, please feel free to ask.

Thanks - Tracy

 3.
All of your replies have helped a lot to make up my mind. The one other thing I would like addressed is the matter of sharpness. I want to go with 35mm focal length, the least expensive option, or possibly the 30mm from Sigma. What about sharpness, can I expect more sharpness than I now get with the 18mm-105mm?

 4.
I am comparing two Nikkor lenses. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G and the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G. Other than the obvious, $200 or $1800, what are the differences. I like to take landscape photos and portraits. I want a quality clear photo for landscapes and have the ability for a good bokeh when needed. I am now using the 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR and also a Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8, The former will not do bokeh, which is to be expected and the later does a great bokeh. The Nikkor prime 105 seems to produce a much sharper image than the 18-105. I am looking for that in the 35mm lens. Will I be happy with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G or should I save a up more cash and get the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G?
