One more idea if you have a good hardware store nearby like the one that starts with a A and has a helpful man. Ask to see there o rings. bring your camera along to get the right size of one.
There is no charge for this advice but it might be worth more than what you payed for it. No guarantee

Check out Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 EX DC Macro I have that lens which is on my k10d almost all the time. I can't help you with used ones.

I was told when quite young that "Real Danes" don't read directions. I have tried to live up to that but I must admit failure at times.

Dorus Just another opinion..... I like No. 2 the best. It brings the foreground and the sky together in a complete picture, better than the other two pictures. Also I like the bird in No. 2

The picture with the frog needs a title " I see you "

You take some nice pictures.....

Andrew, I probably am going to need another lens. A prime perhaps? 50mm ? Michael the need is for Archiving Some time back all I shot was slide film. I would like to view and print some of the better shots. Quality as good as I can get with in reason. These will be for my own use. I can clean up if need be. As far as printing It has been a while since I have viewed any of the slides. I have boxes and boxes of slides thats why speed could be important. I will look forward to what you find out about the different scanning options.

My question is has any one used a slide copier like this one. I wonder how the quality is? What would be the best kind of lens to attach it to ? I have a Epson V500 Photo scanner but I was thinking I could speed up the work flow with this type of scanner. My camera is K10d Lens are Pentax 50-200 Sigma DC 18-50 Ex Macro and Sigma 100-300mm APO DG F4 I am a frequent lurker here and respect the opinions of this forum. So thanks for any replies.

I have used the YongNuo. Works up to 200 ft. The directions leave some thing to be desired but play around with it and it works.

Matt, I like picture two and the last one. The only thing I would improve is to make the snow whiter that's a personal thing.

Remember the old saying: Going pro is the best way to ruin a perfectly good hobby. Miseree, that for me sums it up.

I am perfectly happy being a amateur. Even when self pressure says go out and take some pictures they suck. When I am inspired and in the mood keepers go up.

Wire less remote. For taking a picture when you are a quite ways from your camera. I bought a Yong Nuo on E bay It is advertised at up to 300 ft. from the camera. I haven't tried it that far yet. I bought it for remote bird pictures. The instructions that came with it leave a little bit to be desired, but fooling around with it got it to work.

On my monitor the color is good. The picture of the ribs is right on. The eye travels right to the ribs. The focal point. That composition is effective.

Steve, I really enjoyed you post. I have the same lens and is on my camera most of the time. The North shore is truly a place for photos. I have only been there in the winter once when I worked at Duluth for a few weeks. I would like to take a spring time trip on the North shore for photos of the waterfalls. If you don't like one drive on to the next. Those ore carriers are really big. I worked on building them and repairing them years ago in the shipyards at Sturgon Bay. Ahh your post does bring back a lot of memories.

Garry, I think you did a good job. You shot a series of shots that your client can pick from. The main point you made me want some of the pie. .... success...Steam might be a good idea but not needed. The only thing I would change is there is a white spot on the wine glass on all pictures that is distracting PS shop it out. I know you asked for advice but I think you client is happy. You could nit pick all day long but I think you have reach your objective. Making me want some pie..... I tell other Artists at some point your painting is done any thing more an you are just playing. There is no such thing as a perfect painting same with a photograph.

I am considering the Pentax K-1(Nikon User)

If you are into landscapes and good color is important. Look for a Pentax K10D OR k20d Older cameras but the quality of their color excellent. Some say better then the more modern cameras. You can probably get a good lens with the camera.
