1.
Great work this week. I haven't been around much....having too much fun enjoying my new niece. My sister wanted to do some fun shots and thought I'd share them with you! A little Betty Crocker in the making :)
All taken with the K20D, DA 18-55, ISO 1600, 1/50, f/6.3.
3.
You're correct. The Interpretive Center is really well done. If you're interested in the history & what not I would recommend checking it out sometime if/when you're back through here. Fort Benton is a nice area as well, lots of history in that area as well.

 4.
Frank, I'm in Great Falls. Small world huh :). Glacier is beautiful! I hope you enjoyed it! I really should take more advantage of it, since I'm only 3 hours away.

Yeah, I don't think Tijuana is for me.

 5.
Thank you for all the wonderful idea & suggestions guys. I'm thinking my week might not be long enough!

Frank, thanks for the offer to meet up & do some shooting, I may take you up on that. You have some amazing pics on your smugmug & photo blog, I've been perusing for a while now tonight. Lots of ideas hidden away in there. Steve, I'm with you on the Mexico thing. I've heard what you have said from several people....San Diego should be plenty crazy for me.

I love my mountains, but it will be exciting to shoot completely different subjects than what I'm used to here in Montana. I've always enjoyed seascapes & it's not something I have much occasion to do. I'll be sure to get some of what I do posted here :)

 6.
Hi fellow Pentaxians. I'm contemplating a trip to San Diego, not sure why I picked there persay, just popped in there I guess :).
If I do go, I'm thinking of mid-April. Just wondering if anyone from that area would or wouldn't recommend that time as far as weather goes. I've been looking and most of what I've found says the rainy season kind of peters out February/March.
Any suggestions of things to see/do or places to shoot would be welcome too.

 7.
Dave & Howard - I did a little pp with brightness/contrast. Temps weren't too bad Sunday, around 40F, I can't say that this week though lol. As far as the light, it wasn't super sunny, but all that snow & ice makes a little sun go along way.
They aren't handheld, I had some from the beginning that were, however after about 15 minutes it was starting to get heavy so the tripod came out.

Steve - I'm in Great Falls, I personally have been spotting them on the Missouri between the 10th Ave S bridge downriver to Giant Springs. If I'm remembering correctly you're also from MT, I'm not sure if you're familiar with Great Falls or not. I also saw quite a few Christmas week when I traveled through on Highway 12 between Harlowtown & Lavina. I can't say as they are still hanging around there, but if you're on that side of the state it might be a good place to check out.
8.
Howard - Thanks for the comments. Sure you & Dave are welcome to come on over to Montana anytime! I can't see the river out my window so there's no screens to worry about hehe :-)

 9.
Happy New Year everyone. Great shots to start out the new year!!!
I picked up a used Sigma 400mm manual focus lens on Ebay around Christmas. I've been out shooting birds practicing that manual focus on moving objects...it's been challenging.
There have been quite a few bald eagles hanging around on the river here and I caught one of them today and it was nice enough to sit for pictures for around an hour.
Not the most in focus, but thought I'd add to Howard's.
10.
I am finally getting around to my shots from Yellowstone in September.

As I was walking across the Fishing Bridge a herd of bison came by, this confused one decided it was going to cross the bridge instead of swimming like the others. Needless to say it was great to be this close it was also a bit too close for comfort.
Not the best Old Faithful, about 10 minutes prior to it going off the sky was beautiful blue.
11.
Great series Steve. I was in the Park over Labor Day, were you lucky enough to see the Wolves in the Lamar Valley? They said they had been really active, but of course the day I was up at the North side they were nowhere to be seen! Figures lol.

 12.
Thanks for the comments. I agree it was a lucky keeper. I was just shocked, for lack of a better word, that everything wasn't blurry looking and that it was faint but sharp. I'd like to blame an earthquake, but it was probably a foot.

 13.
I've been practicing Birds the last few weeks so here's a couple ducks from today. Thought I'd keep with the B&W feel of the day and convert one of them.

Justin GREAT panoramic!!!!!!!
Sigmar - Great Orcas. I'm not the only one who wonders if the animals people watch, glad to know it
Miserere - Great portrait despite her somewhat irritated expression
Adam - Congrats on making that watermelon look so appealing, had to go and get one

One big & one small from me this week. Both taken at Red Rocks Park near Denver.
