1.
Dan,

My shutter speed was 1/1250 - I incorrectly stated it as 1/250 in the post. Nice catch - I knew something didn't seem right when I posted that.
I also failed to indicate the focal length which was 200mm.

Thanks for the kind words!

 2.
Hey all!
Wonderful photos, as usual!

Did not really get any time out this last weekend, so I am posting another from the airshow. Gotta love those Blue Angels!

00TgIM-145167584.jpg.94d16ecd99d442e9f6f33e02d1c3abce.jpg

 3.
Wonderful shots as always! You all inspire me to want to take my camera with me everywhere I go, to create reasons for photo trips, and to photograph things - and in ways - I would have never considered before.

Well, after missing the last two weeks, I was out at the annual air show with my wife and kids this last weekend and was able to get about 1600 photos. The only problem with this is that I have had to go through so many just to find one to post on this thread ... Maybe I'll save others for when I am not able to get out in a week.

After much consideration, it was either one I really liked of the Blue Angels, or this one. I actually chose this one because I love the idea of this bird and the technology it represents, and was an avionics tech with Marine Helicopter Squadron 1 (HMX-1 - USMC) when we were supposed to get the one that splashed into the Potomac River in 92 - that sucked! Anyway, I also thought this was something that was less photographed and was pleased with the way it turned out. It has been cropped some to allow larger size of subject while staying within the size requirements for the thread.

00TcIr-142811584.jpg.9539e0afa27b60dde4c6bbb2505f0db3.jpg

 4.
WOW! As always! Wonderful Photos everyone!

My favorite has got to be Matthew Brennan's - Wow!

Other stand-outs for me:
Jose - Nice freeze of the action! Looks like those dogs are having loads of fun.
Kevin - Love the old car!
Rene - I like the color.
Trevor - The slightly blurred night street look gives it the feel of a seedy mystery novel - like it is setting the story. I like it.
Per-Christian - Can you say: Celebrity portrait; looks like he has the DeNiro eyebrow thing going.
Justin - Nice and Sharp.
Anish - The lighting of the bridge and buildings is beautiful; great pic!
Sjoerd - Nice composition.
Ian - I hate ghosts; love the pic though!
Georg - Nice portrait! Nice capture of the facial expression.
Richard - Beautiful Robin!
Michael S. - I lived near Fredricksburg when stationed at Quantico, VA. It is beautiful there in the Spring and Fall. I loved it there. Nice color!
Dan P. - I don't know. Looks like your kid may be a trendsetter; this could take off like the low-drop drawers/pants. ;-)
Darko - I hate Dandelions, but the pic is beautiful!
Wayne - Nice shot! You're Killin' me!
Ryan A. - Very nice wedding shot! ... and without the need of a more expensive camera - Nice! ... Please forgive me. I'm not knocking you folks with the more expensive cameras - trust me; I wish I could justify the cost of one. Someday maybe.
Fab M. - Love the Tulips! Beautiful color and composition!

Here is my submission - it was captured with my trusty D60 and attached AF-S DX 55-200 VR @ 55mm, f/4, 1/30sec, ISO 320, no flash. It has some minor processing in Photoshop CS.

00TPrB-136401584.jpg.ccd0b66f7f08e0376cceb48f7356d7ec.jpg

 5.
As so many have already stated: beautiful shots everyone!! My favorites this week are:

Matthew B. -- Beautiful! ... Did you say ... Autumn? :-)
Hasse -- Love how you used the flash! It looks like natural late afternoon sunlight to me; really sets the mood of the portrait.
Mitch A. -- Love the Gazelle/Antelope; nice catch!
Andy C. -- Beautiful color!
Mike McD. -- Love the color and contrast!
Doug S. -- Beautiful Hummingbird; very sharp!
Gus Z. -- Beautiful image; the colors and light seem to really draw out her eyes!
Benjamin S. -- That is a really cool shot!

Here is my humble submission. It is more of a family fun photo instead of my actually trying to do something creative with the camera. It was taken with my D60 & AF-S DX 55-200mm VR @ 92mm, f/9, 1/60sec, ISO 200.

Yesterday evening, I was having my son (who is just learning to drive) help me rearrange the cars in the driveway and decided to get a couple of photos of him behind the wheel as he was moving his mother's car. Needless to say, he decided to be cute.....

 6.
Well put Lex. Glenn, Rene! That is why I have found myself drawn to this thread every week. It is certainly my favorite photo thread. I just enjoy seeing what each photographer is going to post each week.

Maybe, if we just try to imagine and appreciate what the photographer of each photo sees in that photo, instead of what we see as the good and the bad, then maybe we can come to appreciate each others and our own photos more.

 7.
As usual, wonderful pics everyone; I love to see the photos from all over the world. Standouts for me this week are as follows:

Gary M. - Beautiful color and detail!
Hamish - Love the sun rays!
Sanford G. - Beautiful image; love the contrasts!
Matthew B. - Wild looking clouds.
Ian R. - I love the woods. Beautiful photo!
Gabe S. - Beautiful birds!
Susan W. - Beautiful sharp image; that is about as still as you'll probably ever catch that little sucker.
Dennis B. - Very colorful. Great photo!
Chris C. - Love the way the shot captured the water. Really cool shot!
Wayne W. - Love the image! I go to the Smokies in the fall and love GSMNP. You make me wish I were there now! Love the black bears - nice catch! This is probably my favorite this week - more for sentimental reasons I imagine. :-)
Ben S. - Love the color and the serenity!
John C. - Love the peek-a-boo chipmunk. Nice catch!
Ryan A. - Nice rose! Welcome to the forum!

This week has been bad here in Indiana so far for outdoor photo shooting, so I am going to use a photo from a couple weeks ago. It is a shot down one of the main streets (East to West) in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, USA at dusk.

Taken w/ a D60 + AF-S DX 18-55mm 3.5-5.6G VR @ 35mm, f/7.1, 1/200sec, iso100

00THA4-132215584.jpg.8a57a6ff848f43b3e09224fd122cd52d.jpg

 8.
Great pics everyone!

Saturday evening, I was sitting right outside my back door enjoying the great weather and contemplating the yard work I needed to do the next day - probably should have done it that day, but was not in the mood. I decided to monitor the bird feeders looking for some good bird shots and I noticed that my neighbor's kid's new project car - an old Dodge Dart - gave the scene an old-timey suburbian feel. I was impelled to capture the moment and transport it back in time - if you can overlook the modern bird feeder and solar ground lamp.

The photo was taken with a D60 and AF-S DX 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF ED VR. It was taken @ 55mm, f/4, 1/8sec, iso800 @ 7:35 PM EST. The image was then cropped some and converted to grayscale in Photoshop CS.

00TCtu-129571784.jpg.cd864b9718f7beb02dd2c3c32b038c35.jpg

 9.
WOW! Beautiful Images!

You, know, I went to itemize what images stood out to me and why, until I noticed that my "concise" comments on standouts were filling the better part of a page, and it occurred to me that there were too many good photos to itemize. I can say this though: all of the photos are great and I really enjoy this thread!
If I had to point out a favorite, the following would be considered: Gary's owl, Dieter's sparrow, Matthew's church, Bruce's castle, and JFZhang's sunset.

Here is my humble submission for this week. I had a friend join me for lunch as he was digging up his hidden walnuts. This was my favorite of the photos I took.

Taken with: D60 and AF-S DX 55-200mm VR @ 200mm, 1/500sec, f/5.6, iso220, shutter priority

 10.
Well duh! Had I paid more attention to the information you had in your post Hideyuki, I would have realized that the color was natural as you pointed it out as a reason you liked the picture.

 11.
Great pics everyone! Man, I really enjoy this forum series (Thanks Jose!). I find I must check it out every Wednesday to see what new pics are going to show up.
Here are my fav's so far:
Hamish - Love the landscape; same with Bremman.
Ian - Reminds me of early horror scene; eerie. I love it.
Rene - Love the color contrasts.
Pedro - Love the composition and light.
Gary - Love the rich color and soft water; probably my favorite this week.
Hideyuki - Like the color saturation (natural I assume). Sorry about the lens - On an off note, by the info in the posts, you must be Rene's kid ... (same lens).
Waldemar - Nice timing; sharp pic.
Tony - Love the color in your panoramic.
Fab - Nice DOF.
Gabe - For existing light, I think it is very nice portrait.

As others seem to be excited about the onset of Spring, I am also, so my pic is from my front yard Friday morning. It was taken with my D60 & 55-200mm f/4-5.6G VR @ 55mm, 1/200, f/9, iso 200.

00T4p4-125239584.jpg.4c166916eb3beac861c27a17c5c5c7ab.jpg

 12.
Hey all!
I love the postings already today! Great shots!
I am new to Photo.net and have been following the WedNEsDAy PiCs for 3-4 weeks now. I find myself fairly excited to see what will show up each week. I have finally found the time this morning (and worked up the courage, I might add) to contribute a pic to the thread. I don't have any pics from today yet, but I took this picture last week while on vacation and thought it might be an adequate contribution.
I loved the light in this lobby and that is what drew me to take the shot - yes, the off angle is intentional. Just curious - just a bit of trivia; does anyone know where this is?

00T0US-123139584.jpg.e6877b3316ea4e20148a8a3d81998a9a.jpg
