I just replaced my 28-135 IS USM for a 28-70 L lens. The 28-135 was optical very good butr the IS system in that lens caused a lot of problems!! You can read about it in other threads here on photo.net. The new 28-70 is expensive so you're choice isn't easy but I found out it's a great lens to work with also with my new 10D body. I wish you lots of succes with you're choice!
