Has anyone some knowledge about it? I am really interested, as the price is only slightly higher than SB600, while SB900 is too much for me.</p>

<p>On the innitial question, the answer is - perfect match. I used Nikon 55-200VR, Sigma 70-300 DG APo Macro and now I have the Nikkor AFS 70-300 VR, which is by far the best of the three, Sigma coming second and 55-200VR third... at a certain distance !</p>

<p>Yes, I do. I have a M42 adapter with glass - noname - and I used it on my former D60 and on my present D80 and a friend of mine use the same intensely on D40. The M42 lense was an old Hellios m44-2 58/2 wich came from my first camera back in eighties - russian Zenith M.<br />The results were fairly good, color rendition especially, but of course everything was manual (metering and focus) with the cameras in M mode. Using apertures below f/5.6 I got the distance/in focus reading though.<br>
