Bruce Cahn , Zeiss is a well known color lens between too many manual focus users, it's surprising for me that you shoot B&W

No worries my friend, you did a recent job here and the pp is not bad IMO
Most of the women i know never like themselves even if you're a master in PP

Kelly, Actually what i mean was "digital post processing techniques", so sorry for my english.

People seem to be happy with "help scanner" and "help skin smoothing retouch" threads together.
It was just an opinion, my thought, you may find it unnecessary or helpful, that's all.
I'd like to see them seperately though.
Thanks Josh, at least you just listen to different voices.

I'm not sure if it's already so but can't we seperate this forum as "digital darkroom equipment" and "digital process techniques"?
I mainly use this forum just to search for the digital processing techniques but mostly face with too many equipment threads such as scanners, printing, configuration etc...
Maybe i'm doing something wrong while searching for digital techniques, any help would be aprreciated.
Regards

Peter,
i don't see a disturbing banding in the area you've mentioned.
I use also D700 and shooting RAW processing in CS3, my setting in camera is Abobe RGB always but when i start editing i immediately turn it to sRGB and process it in 16bit and i have no problems at all, i hope what i do helps you.

Hello all,
I haven't found any satisfactory answers via internet search, do you have any idea what does (B) stands for in NKR-D700(B) . Well, it's written under the camera in D700, there are 2 labels; one is for serial but the other label is where the NKR-D700(B) is written, i hope it doesn't mean that it's refurbished?

Thanks in advance

Hello All,
Maybe this is not a very clever thread but...
I just bought the Nikon 60mm f 2.8 AF G, (the nano coating one, whatever the newest one i mean)
I have few concerns
It's said that closest focus distance is 0.185m but i can focus closest than that, what does that mean?
I tried live wiev, tripod and manual focus but didn't like the results very much even though i recognized that the lens is very sharp, i mean there is something wrong with me, maybe i have too many things to learn about macrophotography (yes, i'm reading too many things but confused a little)
So could you please show me your best photo taken with that lens?
Regards

By the way, if you're not used to manual lenses and if you're not fast enough i don't recommend manual lens for portraits.

-

Do you mean prime lens by saying fixed lens? If so i recommend 85 1.8 or if you have budget 85 1.4 for portrait, but on the other hand if you will go with D90 50mm 1.8 or 1.4 will give you satisfactory results for portrait since the D90 is DX then 50x1.5 will give you 75mm which is ok for portrait again.
