  1. Never mind the eagles. They fend for themselves! Feed the starving photographer!

Its hard enough to make a living as a photographer now days,But when you have to defend yourself to the general public ( Im not Fatali).

But when you have photographers breaking the law and setting a bad example in plain view of the public eyes, That makes us all look bad !

Anyway I've said my piece But I would like leave you with a Quote from Bob Atkins: One stupid photographer can give 100 responible photographers a bad name.

    Thanks

  2. I live in alaska and I'am a long time photographer and I am amazed at the

things photographers (some photographers)do for a photo.I visited Homer, Alaska

march 16-19 of this year and had a great time photographing the Eagles while

Jeanne feed them (Quite amazing to watch) and think it woud be common knowledge

that the eagle lady is the only one that is allowed to feed, but I found thats

    not the case.

There were several groups of photographers that were feeding in the evening

hours and taking pictures like mad and some from Jeanne trailer, But did not

see Jeanne feeding the Eagles I am really confussed and disturbed that this is

allowed to happened. no wonder photographers are Getting a bad reputation.

comments PLEASE ( I have photos of this)

  4. Hi there,

I'm not sure if this the right place for this post, but Im trying to

find out if anybody has read the advertisement about Focus on Africa

in the Outdoor Photographer this month. I am seriously considering

this as a opportunity to see and photograph Africa at a reduced

cost. Does anyone have experiance with this, I'm not 100% sure about

it. But sounds like a really good deal for both parties involved,

please any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. I have purchase my first digital camera EOS 10D, Itook it out with a

canon 1.4 II extender and a 500 4.5 and found that I have no auto

focus. Does any no what the cutoff is for the autofocus for the 10d.I

cant seem to find any reference to this in the book.

  6. I would defintly by a wimberley, I do a lot of bird photography and the head works great, If you call them they will loan you one to try.

I think its is well worth the money, you bought the lens and having the right head is important.

  7. Hello Ray

I live in Fairbanks , Alaska and would reccomend without a guide if you have good information on where you want to go,if you are planning

some overnight stays be sure to have the proper gear, September in Alaska can be unpredicable. So If you know what your doing go prepared and shoot lots of photos.

  8. I would like to thank everyone for there input and I would like you too know that I ordered the wimberley today, and the reason is the wimberley holds the lens like it was designed to be held in the upright position (foot down) the others held from the side has got to put some stress on the foot any way thanks again

  9. Im in the process of buying a new head for my 3236 bogen, to hold a

eos 3 and a 500 f/4.5. Have been looking at the wimberley (not the

side kick) and the king cobra and I understand these heads are very

good for panning and such, but are they a stable platform for

stationary targets and for longer exposures (ease of movement does not

sound promisng) can they be tighten down for a no movement patform.

    Thanks
