    Excellent photography indeed!

The lighting scheme works so very well with the applied texture. I have only compliments on this one and hardly any suggestion. Very well done!!

Wonderful point of view, pose and mood! Not sure about the crop - I wish you could have managed to include more of her beautiful right hand and also of her left arm (so to include her elbow too). That would have also brought in frame her right shoulder which, in turn, adds to the overall harmony of the motion within the image.

My eyes are attracted by her beautiful fingers - maybe because they get a bit more light than her eyes (or the color tone is lighter), so I'm not sure if this is good or not.

You could have tried to - and maybe you did - get the same shot, same composition, but without hands, so that all attention goes to her face.

Not counting these - otherwise - secondary observations, this remains a beautiful photo of an equally beautiful model.

    Felicitari, Andreea! :)

PS I can't believe someone could have given this photo a 3 on either aesthetics or originality!!! Such low ratings should not be allowed without a decent explanation!

    Hi Kristijan,

As Dan already mentioned, you've got some very pleasing tones here and, of course, a nice pose. As for the catch lights, I can see them, although not as bright as I would have liked to.

However, my main concern here regards the position of her face within the frame. I would have left less space above her head, and more in the lower side, so to get more of her arm and torso in the frame.

Now, as I look more, I noticed her nails... Just a tiny detail, and maybe it's just me, but seeing her nails from this perspective it's kind of strange, maybe even a bit distracting. I would have preferred to have her slightly switch her wrist in order to avoid seeing her nails from the inside.

Apart these details, I think you've got a really nice capture.

    Best regards!

This is also so nice and her pose just as charming! I love how the light leads the eye to her perfect, beautiful lips. Also, I like how the jacket is left open just enough, capturing the eye without revealing too much.

Maybe you're just a bit too close, or above her eye level, because I sense a slight optical distortion here. Or it's just an impression.

    Beautifully done and great set!

Very nice light you got here, Andrew! It's warm and soft, just perfect for this young woman. However, my problem doesn't regard the girl, but the background: on the lower part it seems like the sea, so on the upper side I would expect some open sky and eventually some clouds. Instead, I see some green and something like the contour of a statue in a park. The gray contour of what I think to be a statue distracts me a bit, but it's just a marginal note.

(Added later: I've seen another capture of her with a clearer view of the background. I understand I was mislead by what I thought it was the horizon line at about her shoulder level. However, for me, it is still difficult to avoid this illusion without seeing the clearer shot.)

I wish she was looking into the camera, just because I love eye-contact, however this way works greatly with her pose, which is also so exquisite.

Again, great light on her hair, on her face... Oh, her jacket leaves just a slight light under the tip of her chin (either cover or let more of her neck exposed), but again that's just a thought.

Enchanting portrait, indeed... Can't stop watching it! :)

    Very well done!

I like the reflections in her eyes and the diffused effect. I'm not sure if it's just myself, but the light on her nose kind of cancels the shades so the nose almost disappears (just at a first glance). Otherwise, I like the light on her right side, her pose and, yes - nice make-up!

Maybe I would have liked to see more of her left arm and a bit more of her neck, but again, it's a matter of personal taste and it also depends upon the overall setting.

    Nice capture, Stephen!

  1. Ciao Florina,Nice light here! I also like your point of view... if only that bush on the left wouldn't have been there. It covers the columns of the entrance gate!... :(

I know, it's so frustrating to notice you missed some detail when you check your photos on the large screen, at home - it is usually too late to do anything.

Except for this detail, I like the composition and about everything on this picture. Continua asa! :)

  2. Salut Florina,I also like the sepia choice on this photo as it enhances the ornaments of the towers and of the main structure. However, more sunlight would have benefited to the façade as it needs a bit more contrast (I know, the sun is not so simple to move around, and neither is the monastery ;).Besides, the element right in the front of the camera (a candles-place?): it's not clear if you wanted it within the frame or it's just an obstacle you couldn't avoid...

What I like most is the upper side of the frame and especially the light over the twisted tower on the left.

    Felicitari! :)

Ciao MaXu,This is an inédite setting with Valentina and, of course, a great shot as well!

I like how the white jacket balances the dark background so that her skin and hair may bring in the perfect amount of colour. You also captured a fabulous expression on her face which fits perfectly her body posture.

As always, I'm impressed by your photographic skills! Complimenti! :)
