<p>I've been struggling with noise as well and will be interested in following the responses you get. Looking at the samples you sent, I understand your concern. Would you be willing to share some more information regarding the photos; camera, lens, f-stop, etc? </p>

<p>It's great to know that I'm not alone with my uncertainty with the rating criteria. I had read the "standards" section and found it not very helpful especially when it comes to originality. As Jonas pointed out better than I, some look at a picture of a tree and see nothing original and another sees the originality in lighting or whatever. I am pleased that I have received critiques that offered constructive criticism. I hope in the future I will have the skill with with words to be able to do the same.</p>

<p>I'm new to Photo.net and in hopes of having my photos rated, I started giving my ratings of others. I then realized I didn't know what I was doing. How does one rate originality? There are many photos that I think are terrific but I certainly wouldn't call them original. Am I missing something?</p>
