1.
Hi All
Well i did as Tom suggested removed eight screws and carefully removed end plate, there is some friction but pull out square to the lens, used a magnifying glass to inspect the Hair spring that resets the small actuating arm, this appeared in good condition and activated the return of the arm when moved,i placed the arm in the open position which in a perfect world allow me to recock the shutter and blow me down with a feather!! it worked .
I worked on a white cloth so as to see any misplaced srews, used a magnifying glass,a container for the screws,a bright bench light,a note pad,and an inspection type magnet in case a screw went inside the mount.
When you place the plate back on to the body of the lens, take care with alignment and dont use force, enter all 8 screws using interference fit ie a bit loose when all in place, tighten.
I now have my lens back and didnt need the brandy.
Thanks again. Dave

  2.
Thank you all, for your instructive comments,i am in between a rock and a hard place re the repair,my friend had a repair carried out on his Hasslblad lens in England and the cost was nearly as much as a mint lens on E Bay.
Am a retired engineer, but my job was Digital Proofers not quite the same as a Compur shutter mechanisms,i think i will chance my arm at a tentative strip down and inspection,if a success or disaster i will report back,i think i will have a strong brandy to give me courage.
Thanks once again for your kind assistance.
Dave

  3.
I do hope i am not considered rude, jumping in on this subject, but i would appreciate your expertise regarding a lens problem i have, the lens in question is a C lens 150mm,the problem is i am unable to recock it after accidently tripping it while off the camera body .
If a repair is required, could i do it with any guidance you may be able to give me,i am a retired engineer but am used to working on larger items.
thanks
best regards Dave in France

  4.
Hi all
I have a beautifull,Minolta XD7 which is allso the XD11,to hear the shutter operation is music to my ears,i do believe Lieca had some dealings in this model,
I have a Nikon F4S built like a tank, but if i were on a desert island with one camera it would be My Hassy M/F with the metered head, things just look better when you look thru this, but it gets very little use due to i cannot afford the Digi Back,Iwould ask do many of you still use film i loved it !!! but digital is so convenient.
All the best Dave

Michael i wonder if you could give me some advise please,i have just obtained a screen 1050a1,my mac g3 is down at the moment/new HD on order.
Could you advise,i started the scanner up without any scsi connection the display lit up but no initislisation or action of any sort took place in the scanner there was a brief light from the lamp but no head movement.should the head be free ie move along its rail as mine does not,i am hoping once the software is loaded and the scsi connected things should change, your advises would be appreciated, Dave

  6.
HI Freya.
I agree with Mark,Preparation is absolutly vital, prepare a list of must do pictures request from the bride and groom any specials they require make a note of these and place them on your list, your assistant -normally your wife or partner-will quote the shots to do in the sequence as you have listed them, this method allows you to concentrate on all things camera.
There are some excellent books about regarding posing ,try the set ups with your partener ,standing .posture, get used to this type of rapport,
Some people are naturally at ease ,and confident on a wedding shoot, this normally stems from
good preparation prior to the event,so go out there and knock em dead,
All the very best for your first
Dave
