Part of a project to ducument uo and coming musicians, bands and solo

artists in my hometown of Hull - Yorkshire in the UK.

When I first came across this building I thought that it must have

been an old cattle shed. On closer inspection it appears to have been

somebody’s home. Inside there are old pieces of furniture and

decorations that help you to build up a picture of who may have lived

there and how they might conducted their daily life. I’ve found

another two buildings like this one, all within walking distance from

my house. I wonder how many more buildings like this one are waiting

to be discovered.

This image is part of a larger social documentary project covering the

last 18 months of trading at Hull's fruit market. The whole area has

been purchased for redevelopment and the market traders have been

forced to move.

This shot is of the banana room, now unused and waiting to be

demolished. Hull's fruit market is located on prime development land

in between the dock side and the city center and has been at this

location for over 200 years. The new fruit market has been located on

the outskirts of the city where land is in less demand.
