    M80 firmware update

    <p>...ok, Canon Switzerland returned my call. The M80 runs on a 1.8" HDD which can be replaced by Canon Service. I asked whether it could be replaced with a SSD (Samsung, for example are offering 1.8" 128GB SSDs), but I could feel the blank stare through the phone. Will head down to Canon Service one of these days and try to get hold of a technician there. Update to follow.</p>

    Although there are very small netbooks and stuff like iPads available today, I still like my M80 for its ruggedness and small size and weight. So I just followed your firmware upgrade instructions now (it's hanging at 50% as I type). I have also opened a support call with Canon, enquiring about the possibility to change my M80's HDD. Wouldn't it be great to have something like a 160GB solid state disk in there?<br>

    Will update this once I receive a reply from Canon.<br>
