I have an issue. I can't decide which to buy the D300 or D700? Is there that much of a different between the two except one is full frame and the other crop? Im a portrait/wedding photographer. I've used the D700 and I love how sharp the Auto Focus is even shooting in RAW and was wondering if the D300 was the same? I would love to buy the cheaper of the two but I want the same quality.

One more thing. Im having trouble getting the flash on TTL BL. The only option it is giving me is TTL FP. Are these the same?

Thank you for the info. I've never used a professional camera before. I have a canon rebel xti. I wanted to rent this equipment to try it out. So not only am I using more techincally diffcult equipment, but Im also trying to get used to a nikon vs a canon. I'm just trying to make this test run fun but I also want to get some decent photos too. Thanks for the help.

I'm in need of some help. Ive rented a Nikon D700 and a SB 800 flash. I've been outside, in full sun, trying to use the flash as a fill. I have it set on TTL ISO 100. 50mm F 2.8. All of the photos are blown out. How can I fix this?

thanks. I also found out how to turn it off.

Well I was looking and I know you can use the quantums as an on camera flash. I'm wanting an off camera system and was just interested to see what others were using.

-

Does anyone have any recommendation for a Quantum Kit? Im going to be using this for weddings and as a portable studio. Is quantum the way to go or are there other options?

Thanks David. I'm not going to be selling these photos, just using them on a promo postcard with new summer rates on it.

20 mins from your house is just standard where I come from and an hour drive to the venue isn't bad at all. Honestly, I don't know if I would even charge extra for this but it might be different where you live. The "travel" really wouldn't be considered travel.

David, of course I didn't word it like that in my contract. I don't have it directly in front of me but i will post it as soon as I get home. Also, what do you mean by using them commercially?
Bob, This was a contract for a portrait session.

My next question is do you do the same for posting to a website?

-

I'm getting ready to print up some marketing materials and of course I've used some of my past photos. I'm wanting to know, even though it is posted in my contract that I can use these photos for what ever I choose, do you still let the people know that you are going to be putting their children in these materials?

Thanks for the info! I'm siging up today!
