I would just like to touch on the flare subject.....Is it not possible that she wanted the flare? There a couple of big named studios which I won't mention that really utilize the the sun & flare to their advantage to give a very warm/sun washed feel (albeit executed differently).

I had considered one of their speedlight kits but really want to stick with the AB's as I want to build my stuido setup around them.

So I was considering picking up some AB strobes with portable power, soft boxes, stands, etc however after looking at the final price its a tid bit more than I was looking to spend at this moment. I would really love to buy an AB medium softbox and use it with one of my SB600/SB900's. What rings/mounts would be needed to make one of the AB softboxes mount with one of my speedlights?

Mostly outdoors. I figured as much about spending less for the same/better - Just figured I might ask if someone knew of something I didn't. My wife & I shoot together so she can help. I had considered putting my other speed lights to use, at least a a rim light. I have a reflect I use on occasion but would probably be more happy with the additional lighting from a flash, which I am ok with purchasing as it is my livelihood.

I've until recently only been interested in shooting available light (mostly) for portraits & done quite well with it. I am however ready to expand a bit & want to move into using multiple off camera light sources on location (I currently use some CyberSyncs to trigger my hot shoe flashes). I have been doing a lot of looking & people seem to love the AB's which works great because of my Syncs, but my question is, would there potentially be a better solution than AB lights & modifiers that might not run as expensive yet still deliver fantastic quality? I was looking at picking up 2 of the 800's & soft boxes (probably a medium & large) as well as the vagabond for portable power. Might I do better to pick up 1 soft box & Parabolic? I've never used Parabolic's outside so I don't know what kind of effect I can achieve, however I do love the effect my softbox currently gives me. Thx in advance

Was not sure where else to post this.... I've been doing on location wedding & engagement photography for some time now. Recently have had an inquiry to do a large number of portraits in a studio with a plain white/black background. Can anyone recommend decent backdrop support systems as well as backdrops? I'm thinking Alienbee's for strobes with my cybersyncs and boxes......Also something portable that I could take with me to weddings to do a "Photo Booth" type thing would be ideal.

Hey Guys! I went with the Cybersync's & picked up a hot shoe adapter for my SB-600. I will actually have a couple of configurations. The primary 2 are Using my D700 with just the transmitter triggering an off camera sb-900 to create dramatic lighting and the other will be using the SB-900 as on camera bounce flash and using SB-600 as remote flash for reception's with my speedlight hot shoe adapter.

Yeah, I've been looking around some more and decided I'm going to go with the cybersyncs. They seem like the best bang for the buck, epically with the new cyber commander.

It seems to be a toss up between the PW's & the Flashwave 2. I almost always have an assistant with me holding speed lights so they can also adjust the power, so do not need the more expensive yet to be releases PW's.
I suppose my question still pending (forgive me if someone has answered this, I did not see it) is there a way to have a SB-600 or 900 set in my camera's hot shoe (for bounce flash) while still having the wireless trigger's transmitter in use?
Pete S. I think you might have answered the question above. Does the Flash act as the bridge between the hot shoe & transmitter?

Yeah, I need to be able to keep my SB-900 on camera for bounce flash while still triggering my other wireless flashes.

I would first like to start out saying I do not want to use CLS. In my experience it is to unreliable and I really need something where I don't have to worrie about which side of the camera my flash is on.
I am in need of a wireless flash trigger system (preferably Radio wave, not IR as the CLS system). I have seen a couple of things but honestly can not figure out exactly what the heck I need in order to make it work.
Looking to use this with my D90 & D700 / SB-900 & multiple SB-600's

While I can't agree with picking your nose I will agree with Marc. The more relaxed and confident you are the easier and more relaxed they will be. When I shoot weddings (almost every weekend, sometimes 2 or 3 a week) I build a continuous rapport with the bride, and like to show up right before she starts to getting ready. This, coupled with jokes and short quips to EVERYONE around the bride, leads to everyone being more relaxed which makes the bride more at ease.
Also, quite often my brides will ask for a glass or wine, beer or a cocktail which myself or my wife will gladly locate for her. Alcohol definitely makes brides loose.

Mike - I understand the s-surve comment as i add those all the time, however i'm confused on what adding 4 poins of red & yellow will do. Is that for warming?

Yeah i got all of that down and understand the lighting via softbox.....But take a look at the before PP images....They look good but not great.....Throw in the photoshop and WOW completely new image.

So i've been shooting weddings for a while and i've really been using photoshop a lot more lately.....How ever i can't seem to acheive the look i want.....I really want my pictures to "pop". I almost want my couples to pop off the picture. I've done a little searching and Neil has a couple examples of how i want my images to look (and he does not tell how he aceived it, just "Photoshop Fair Dust".) I don't even need my images to match this exactly but any push in the right direction would be awsome. Thanks everyone!

First image on the page....It really looks like a magazine add...

Hello

I am having problems deciding on a print company to use (to this point have not offered print services, but it seems people are starting to want books)

What is the best place, or multiple places, to have my work printed (best quality, best price, etc.)

Thanks a TON!

Wes
