  1. <p>Happy Wednesday everyone. Great photos as usual. This is our cat's first Christmas and she is very excited and curious about the tree. Hard keeping her from climbing into it. Nikon D7000 Tamron 18-270mm lens.</p>
  2. <p>Good Wednesday everyone. Has a wonerful Thanksgiving and looking forward to celebrating Christmas. My photo today is of two of our great granddaughters. We lit the fireplace and watched them as they enjoyed its warmth. Nikon D7000 Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. Lasting memories for the scrapbook.</p><div>00ZfrG-420345684.jpg.669a9cdfc5843156321c3c354223ce18.jpg</div>
  3. <p>Happy Wednesday everyone. Went to a Civil War Muster this last weekend. Photo from the battle involving the Confederate Calvary against the Union cannons, thus the Retreat. Nikon D7000 Tamron 18-270mm lens. Photos were defintely not the same quality as my last "battle" photos taken with my Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. The Tamron is pretty good in good light, but fails in bad lighting conditions at longer focal distances.</p>
  4. <p>Happy Wednesday everyone. Last Wednesday was the first day of moderate summer temperatures after 40 days of temps in the high 90's and 100's, so hubby and I went to the zoo for some walking and picture taking. I am still getting used to the Nikon D7000 after the D300 and the new Tamron 18-270mm lens after carrying the 70-200 and 17-50 lens for the last couple of years. I do miss the f/2.8 though! Here's a photo of the Scarlet Macaw in the Avian House at the Detroit Zoo. It's the 1st time I've seen them in my many trips to the zoo. </p><div>00ZCRe-390417584.jpg.6dc6b0abd5dcd90a0c67862fa1a2764f.jpg</div>
  5. <p>Good Wednesday everyone. Munising Harbor at 9:30 A.M. just before going on Pictured Rocks cruise. Started pouring down rain as we were leaving the boat. Nikon D7000 Nikon 70-200mmf/ 2.8'</p><div>00Z6Gk-383753584.jpg.ec0274d7444dd0110370d38918c8841f.jpg</div>
  6. <p>Thanks everyone for imparting your expertise to my question about which lens to take. Whenever I go on a photo excersion the camera raincoat goes with me. I have gotten some wonderfull pictures in the rain I would have missed if I didn't have it. The rain cover extentends with the lens. I am all for carrying only what I need when walking anywhere. I am 74 years old and find I can walk farther and easier without a lot of gear! Advice will be taken about having a tripod for the scheduled night shoot of the falls. I do a have a nice light-weight one that is easy to carry. Thanks again. </p>
  7. <p>I will be going on a photo bus tour to Niagra Falls this fall and would like your opinion on which lenses would be best to take since this is my time going to the Falls. Have Nikon D7000 and the following lenses: Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, Nikon 14-24 f/2.8, Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 and Tamron 18-270 f/3.5-6.3 (the new model). Thanks.</p>
  8. <p>Good Wednesday everyone. Wow! Really have some great posts already. Well it comes a time in your life when you have start carrying less as you walk your miles taking pictures. My camera store had a great Demo Day recently and I took advantage of the great buys and purchased a Tamron 18-270 VC lens. Tried it out at the zoo and here is one of the pics from the butterfly house. The macro on this lens is great. Nikon D7000 Tamron 18-270 at 270mm. It won't take the place of some of Nikon f/2.8 lenses, but it sure is easier to carry just one lens around the zoo.</p><div>00Z25K-379141584.jpg.2eb785330b1fa58f15a77bcc6570c15b.jpg</div>
  9. <p>Our son and daughter-in-law came up from Indiana to spend Father's Day with us and the next next day took a quick trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to get some pictures of the waterfalls that were closr to the road. This is Alger Falls taken with Nikon 7000 and Tamron 18-270mm lens.</p><div>00YxxF-374381584.jpg.75081b63860b53e7f58798f987d34588.jpg</div>
  10. <p>Good Wednesday everyone. After many, many visits to the Detroit Zoo I finally encountered the Arctic Fox in the zoo's Arctic Circle of life. He was behind a thick window of plastic, so the photo turned out to be a soft focus. I have this little guy on my screen background and enjoy cute face and his furry tail every time I turn on the computer. Nikon D7000 Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8.</p><div>00YtNy-369411584.jpg.909e2e2594e08d986729c42c05c7c076.jpg</div>
