1.
That first link, the Delkin product, seems to be USB 1.x transfer rates (12Mb/sec), which are extremely slow compared to the USB 2.0/Firewire 400 (or especially FW 800) that you're used to. Count on about 20-40 min/GB data transfer in real world use.

The specs on the second link don't make any sense at all. They claim 400 kB/seconds, which is .4MB, which is 3.2Mb, which is nothing in the USB spec at all. But if it were true, you'd be looking at several hours to transfer 1GB from your CF card.

Does anyone have good experience with any of the CF backup solutions out there, Jobo digital wallets, etc. I'd love to not take a laptop along, but since you can get a decent used laptop on Craigslist for a few hundred bucks, or even a new ASUS or Acer 9" laptop from onsale.com (http://tinyurl.com/7o5ra7) or other place for the same price as one of these 160GB digital wallets, I just can't find a way to make it all make sense.

P.S. For those trying to do the math, remember that Mb is 1,000 *bits* not 1,000 BYTES. 8 bits = 1 BYTE and a GB is 1,000,000 BYTES, or 8,000,000 bits. And of course, real world transfer is slower than spec.

P.P.S. I've got no affiliation with Acer, ASUS, Craigslist or onsale.com.
