1.
Hi everyone...
So a friend of mine has a Nikon D40. The pop-up flash won't fire anymore... The camera isn't very old.
The flash pops-up and makes a clicking noise but won't fire the strobe. Has anyone else ran into this problem??
Thanks!

  2.
I wasn't a big fan of the 24-120VR... It's pretty so so... I wouldn't say bad but I was never ever blown away by it...
I sold it pretty quick...
Got the 18-200VR shortly after getting rid of the 24-120VR...
This is by far the coolest walk around lens out. Really nice crispy sharp images. You have a great body with the D300 and the 18-200 would be a better choice in my opinion.

  3. Yes if you need it...

I shot with a D40 for a while and took some great shots. But the D40 couldn't handle some of the lenses I was looking to get into specifically the 50mm 1.4 or the 1.8 at that. No autofocus on these lenses with the D40.

So I step up to the D90 as I don't need th D300 or the 700 just yet.

The D90 handles so much nicer. The giant screen (compared to the D40) is fantastic not only for previewing images but for controlling all your settings. ISO's are very nice and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I picked up a D80 recently and love it also but the 90 still takes it by a long shot!

    I say get a D90...

  4.
So out of nowhere, my SB800 flash gets stuck in "M" mode.
I'm able to turn the unit on and off but that's the only button that works.
If the diffuser cap is on, the unit will change to 14mm
If the diffuser is off, it goes back to 24mm
If I pull out the built-in the wide angle adapter, it works at 17mm

However, I cannot change it by pressing the mode button to anything but M. I can't even reset by pressing mode and the on/off switch.
Has anyone else had the SB800 get stuck in a certain mode???
