1.
Well, im thinking on buying a 35 mmprime, and i want something to take pictures in low light conditions, i know in crop factor is not so interesting as in ff, but anyway around 50mm in practice will be good for me
the "but" is that is a little pricey, but if it is really fast, and the iq is so great, i think i can invest the money, it will be for a 50d

also, there is the 20mm 2.8, wich it seems interesting cause its wider and cheaper, but i think the iq and sharpness might be not so great as in the 30mm,. And at last, the too heavy the 24-70mm. My shoots will be most for architecture at night, and i dont like flash at all, so i would like to your opinions on these 3 lenses
(sometimes i dont know for sure, if the "L" thing is not so important, and if it is mostly of construction quality, but no so much of iq)

happy xmas

  2.
thanks, i also considerer the 5d, but the crop factor will help me to have 580mm for less money, wich i need for birds, i also confirm now there is little difference on noise issues on both cameras, so, i think there are better lenses at canon for what i need, i will buy a 50d, and seeing the 9 focus, i think is ok for me,

Robert budding: your comments are silly and pointless, if you are not gonna help on a thread, just keep your mouth shut

  3.
thanks for the help, i have another question,i feel tempted for the 18-200, but the iq is just decent, or really good ?
the people who has it, what does it think of quality of it ?it will be good for a 15 mp camera ? if not, i rather wait to buy a better lens

  4.
Im thinking on buying a canon 50d, and i have tought of this lenses:
10-22, for wide angles,
100-400 for birds, and animals

and i have a hole there, im thinking also in the 24-105 is, but i have heard is definetely not worht the price, so, maybe i will buy the cheaper 28-135 is, wich i dont know how good it is, what do you think about these two ? and i fear that the 10-22 will cause too much distortion, maybe the 17-55 not so wide, but better in iq and less distortion ?

also i tought on the 18-200, but i have heard is not a pretty good lens. dont know if i would enjoy a prime, like a 50, 85 mm. i think i will miss something if i buy only the 24-105 or 28-135, anyway, wich lenses you recommend me to buy appart from the 2 i already choose ?

i shoot nature, all kind of animals, landscapes, and also architecture, i dont like sports
Any advices on the issue will be appreciated

  5.
thanks for the answers, im also concerned about wheter or not the 9 points of canon will be ok, my shooting will be mostly for landscapes, nature in general (rivers, falls, all kind of animals, specially birds)
I feel more comfortable with Canon, but im tempted to buy the nikon d300, (100 viewfinder, weather sealed, 51 af) but i have heard that the d300 menus are too deep and somewhat more confusing than the canon ones, and also the lens issue, dont know if they (Nikon) have corrected them yet, cause i remember a few years ago, canon lenses where much faster.

i would like to know from you, (specially Paul who owns both) if d300 menus are soo deep and confusing, and if the metering system and other manual functions as Kelvin are so much better in d300 than in 50d.
I have never buyed a digital SLR, so, it would be my first one, and dont wanna be dissapointed.

  6. Hi, im gonna buy a canon 50d, and i have a few old lenses that i used on a Canon eos elan II E, and i wanna

know if they will work fast and ok with a canon 50d ( the right thing would be to try them with the camera, but i

cant have the chance, someone will bring me the camera from usa next year) the lenses are a sigma dl zoom 75-

    300 4-5.6 and sigma 100-300 4-5.6.

Do they need some software ? are they gonna work as fast as they used to do with the film eos ?

    thanks in advance

  7. thank you all, im nore confident now tih canon 50d, cause if it resists a low rain, thats what i need, and well, i have always liked canon, and i guess 9 focus points, if fast enough will be just ok for me, and if in noise levels are the same, ill maybe buy the canon 50d

i will check them anyway at the store to check the ergonomics,

  8. Well, im kind of new in photography and i want to buy a slr, im basically concerned about noise at high iso levels,

and speed of the cameras, my pictures will be mostly of landscapes, architecture and also birds and water. Im

between the canon 40- or 50d and the nikon d300, i have doubts with these points

1 -cause im gonna use the camera in hard conditions where water could be a problem, im not sure if canon could

resist properly, the same as the nikon d300 in theory does, cause is weather sealed

2-also, altough it seems canon has easier menus and really great lenses, im really amazed by those 51 points of

nikon, my question is, for landscapes and birds, do you really need so much focus points ?

are the 9 points of canon quicker than 51 of nikon ?

3-and the other stuff, i´ll have to take both in my hands, to see the ergonomics, and to see wich one is the iso

champ, the 40d or the d300, and im kind of worried, cause i have heard that nikon is kinda dificult to handle, too

many functions and deep menus, dont know if you get used to

so, ( i know the web and this site is plenty of discussions like this, but this are some specific items wich im not

clear with) i´ll appreciate any help
