    CRETAN STOCKMAN

The catchlight in his eyes and the sharpness of his hat and beard are nothing short of sensational.  The bokeh is perfect as my attention is solely on your intended subject.  Thanks again for inspiring many of us to be better then we are!

I wanted to thank you all for your inputs, each of you has provided me some insight on other ways to both compose and develop the shot.  Gr8, Gr8 comments...THANKS for helping me improve!!!

  1. Bill,

You had the right idea on this one.  The shot of the front four boys and the ball should be the focus of the shot.  I think your depth of field has allowed to many distractions to enter the shot.  If you had used a larger depth and had the background coaches and kids blurred this should would have been tremendous.

I think this is a tremendous shot, not sure who the no class idiots are who gave this photo a 3 rating....of course they did it anonymously!!!

Madeleine, I think this is a wonderful shot. The composition with the shore, cabin, and trees is excellent. I think for me (and I am just saying for my own personal taste), I would have like to see the reflections on the water a bit sharper/crisper. For me that would have made this a 7/7.

You have an amazing talent with HDR photography. I added you to my favorites and each time you add a shot I'm just stunned at how well you manage to "pull it off". I just wanted to drop a note and say thank-you for sharing your talent with us. I'm just beginning and am inspired by individuals like you who have both a tremendous technical knowledge of photography and more importantly the ability to make us viewers want to be part of what we see. Craig,

Thank you for your comments about my shot. I agree with you about the composition. I was very limited as to where I could take my shot from since it was snowing extremely hard. I used the tree to block the snow and prevent my equipment from getting wet. I learned I need some more protective gear. I will work on getting this right!!

Took this shot at night in a recent snow storm in South Carolina. The light behind the

tree is a yellow street light so I used ACR to change the temp of the shot from yellow. All

    advice is greatly appreciated
