1.
What frustrates me is that this shouldn't be a very difficult fix for Nikon. A simple Firmware update. As far as I know, Canon cameras do not have this limitation.
HDR is just one of my techniques and shots at 0, +2 and -2 EV usually works for me. I know I can take additional shots at +/1 1 EV, but having to take the additional shots to get that range should really be un-necessary. Nikon's total refusal to listen to their user base is also frustrating. Maybe a Canon next time.

 2.
This has been a silly post. Did Van Gogh ruin painting? Did Picasso? Is science fiction really literature? Ansel Adams certainly spent a lot of time in the woods working on expanding the dynamic range of his art.
Art is good or bad. HDR is a technique, no different than flash or dodging and burning. Go take some photographs.
Thanks for reading,
3.
I hate to beat a dead horse since this has been discussed before. But does anyone have any suggestions regarding how to persuade Nikon to enable bracketing in the D300 and other models beyond the current +/- 1EV limitation!? Why my older D70 could go +/- 2EV and my D300 is limited to +/- 1 is insane. I have contacted Nikon only to be told, "thank you for the suggestion." They can have the useless and gimmicky Live View. Give me something useful! Let me be the photographer and decide what I need. What would be so hard to add this feature to the next Firmware update. Unfortunately, something tells me Nikon doesn't care.
Thanks for listening!
