1.
I have a ? for you Jeff.. I am a naturalist lighting lover too and try to do so when shooting a wedding also.. what is your advice or tech specs for shooting at night.. with little or no lighting around.. I ran into this very thing unexpected.. The wedding was postponed for almost 2 hours and my strobes would not reach out with cords to the ceremony site.. what should I have done to get the most excellent shots..??? Being a natural lighting person, I am not used to working with all the hot shot lighting equipment and allthough I have done some major studio shoots with un-natural light, I still don't get how to use them in an enviroment outdoors..
Thanks.

 2.
I recently did a wedding that started at dusk and ended in the dark.. I could not set up my strobe umbrellas to light, they were out too far to do this.. No lighting except for my SB-600 flash.. Nothing to bounce off of except the brides dress...LOL..

Anywho, next time I do a wedding at night, I have ideas for lighting now, but I am troubled if I run into this again... I cannot afford to buy multiple lighting set-ups.. I am a stay-at-home mom who is starting her own business.. so again I stress that I cannot afford to spend a lot on lighting.. I am a minimalist photographer and have been all my life.. I enjoy natural light so getting into weddings I thought I could use this technique with most weddings.. but for ones like the one I shot last weekend, only fake lighting is called for.. I want to know how to get rid of the harsh shadows and how to exactly do night group shots without have ghost arms, ears, faces, etc.. with only my flash and ambient hard-core on site lighting..

I shoot with a NikonD80..with a SB-600 Flash. I do have a flash bracket.
When I get done editing the photos, I will put one up here to show you all what happened..

Thanks..
