The technical name is Clerodendrum thomasoniae and it's English common name is bleeding heart vine. I really like the light and the additional texture in this image. Thanks for sharing.

Oil paint has such luminescence, it definitely adds a dimension as does the wax and the two together are what make it extraordinary.

Thanks again Bob, the encaustic is painted on as clear (clear as it can be). You can see a little of the sideways motion of the brush in the texture. The oil paint can be underneath or on top, in this case it's the last thing I did - on top.

Thank-you Bob, the original certainly has an old world feel to it. I am crazy about Gustav Klimt's work and have re-created studio backdrops and post processing to imitate. The encaustic process is new to me and I am loving it and think it will have many applications with these kinds of shoots.

    Mario,

It's interesting that you say that. She has tattoos on her right side and sometimes models feel like covering them up, even asking that the photographer remove them. I will be doing another shoot with her and there will be more.

Thank-you . I always try and capture that sensuality and mystery in flowers. So great to see your comment. I remember with great clarity the first photograph/image of the sensuality of a flower and went out the next day to buy my 200 macro lens. It had been something I had been unsure of, but not after that! This was shot with lensbaby soft focus filter with 2 diopters (+4 and 10) and a polarizer.

    Take care Roger
