Hi. Love this picture, first one I have commented on for a long time. The mountain peak is positioned perfectly and offset nicely by the foreground hill. The only "negative" thing for me is that the saturation is a bit high, but I wasn't there so can't say how it looked to your eyes. Regards.

Hello. I wanted to capture the scale of the evening roost but it was
surprisingly difficult to find some kind of order in the formations.
This is my preferred shot, I'd be interested to hear what you think of
it. Regards.

Hi. A recent trip to a bird of prey centre meant I came back with
hundreds of pictures, I'd like to hear your comments on this
particular one please. Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi. Your thoughts on this picture are appreciated. Thanks!

A nice 'portrait'. I get a real sense of depth to the tree which makes it stand out. Regards.

Hi. Just managed to catch this stare before he flew off. Hope you
enjoy it!
Thanks for any comments.

Hi, any comments are appreciated.
It may look like I've added an "artistic" border, but that was the
trees I was shooting through. I chose not to crop too heavily, hoping
it would frame the heron, what do you think?
Thanks!

I love it! I can imagine there were lots of other compositions you could have chosen to show, this one works well for me.

Hi. I've taken many pictures of this old tree amongst the pines and I
think this is amongst the better ones. I'd appreciate your thoughts on
it. Thanks!

Lovely picture. The palace has a radiance of it's own, worth the early wake-up call!

Good composition, amazing light! Conveys both cool and warmth together, nice capture.

Hello again!
I'm glad you like it. This actually won a monthly first prize in a Panasonic competition a few years back (still using the batteries and charger prize!), which was a good boost to get out more and take pictures.
There's some good shots in your portfolio, I'll find some time to look a bit closer soon.

Thanks for the constructive comments Sandra.
This is already quite a heavy crop from only a 6mp image so I wasn't sure about getting any closer, but I take your point about the amount of empty space. This was at the limit of my 70-300 and he was gone 10 seconds or so later so it was difficult to get any other compositions, but that just keeps me going back for more!

Wow, you are so lucky to have wildlife like this near you! I keep seeing the odd lone bird of prey here in the UK but usually at about 1000 yards.
Love the picture with them all looking in different directions. Very difficult to expose for, and not easy to get sharp at 300mm, I think you did well.

Good result! This type of image is fun to take as you just never know what you will get.

Hi. Certainly there is a 3D effect here, the lighting on the body is wonderful. The only thing I could suggest for improvement, and it is probably not easy, is to lighten the face and beak a bit to put some more emphasis there.

Hi. The key for me here is that you caught a 'moment'. The look on her face makes me wonder what is going through her mind, and the untidiness of the coat adds extra visual interest. With blown highlights and slightly out of focus subject it proves the composition and content is of key importance.

This picture makes the viewer want to find out more, always a sign of a good picture I think. Was this little guy abandoned? Were his mother and siblings just in front of him? He looks kind of sad anwyay.
Nice capture!
