1.
hello
I have a canon 50d and I was thinking about buying the Sigma 120-400 to shoot long distance landscape shots and surfing and sports during the day.
Does anyone know if this is a good lens?
Picture quality is important but I cannot afford $ 2000 right now.
Thanks

  2.
Hello
My name is Gregory and I am going to buy a wide angle lens for my Canon 50d. I am consideri the Canon 17-

40L, Canon 17-55 2.8, Tamron 17-50 VC 2.8 lens or the Sigma 17-50 2.8 lens. Can anyone recommend which one is

best for the money. Is the Canon 2.8 worth the extra $ 400?
Thanks

  3.
Hello
I have a Canon 50d and I am a aspiring professional photographer. I'm beginning to buy lenses. I just graduated so I do not have a lot of money. It was recommended to me that Sigma has some excellent pro lenses such as the 2.8 70-200 lens and the 100-300 Ex HSM f/4 lenses. It was pointed out to me that I could 2 or posibly 3 pro Sigma lenses for $ 2000 compared to 1 pro lenses for the same price. Are the Sigma pro lenses good quality?

Sincerely
Greg

  4.
Hello
My name is Greg and I am thinking about buying the Tamron 17-50 vc 2.8 lens or the Canon 17-40 F4 L lens for my 50d. I am going to use it for landscape mainly. I have a 50d and hope to eventually go to a Mark II next year. Can anyone recommend which one is better for about $ 700. I will be printing 16 by 20.
Thanks a lot and happy holidays

  5.
Hello
My name is Gregory and I have the canon 50d. I am saving up for the 70-200 L lens. In the mean time I am thinking about buying a zoom lens just to have until I get the L. I am considering the canon 55-250 lens or the Tamron 70-300 lens. I wanted to know if these are good image quality lenses or could someone make a another recommendation for the price. I know I can't shoot sports so I just want to use it for landscape shots and tripod night city shots. I know for 200-300 I am not going to get anything great but I just wanted to know if the image quality decent? I would like to get something to hold me firm until I get my L lens.

  6.
Hi
I have the Canon 50d and I want to buy a 2nd camera as a back up camera just in case something happens to my 50d. I'm not sure if my 50d will become my back up or still be used as a primary camera. I also really want the video capability. I am considering the 60d or the 7d. I shoot sports and landscape. I was told that the 60d has most of things that the 7d has. I wanted to know if that was true is it worth paying the extra $ 500 for the 7d?
Thanks

  7.
Hello
I am saving up for a wide angle lens for my 50d.
I wanted to know is there a big difference between the Tamrom 17-50 VC lens, Canon 17-40 L lens, and the Canon 17-55IS lens? I want to get a really nice lens but wanted to know if it is worth paying more for one of these lenses. Can anyone recommend one of theses. I would like to shoot it mostly for landscape photos to be printed 16 by 20.
Thanks

  8.
Hello
My name is Greg and I live in Los Angeles, but might be moving to the bay area. Can anyone recommned a good and affordable photography program in either Los Angeles or the San Francisco bay area?
I can't afford the expensive private schools but want to really become good technically and overal.
Thanks

  9.
Hello
My name is Greg and I would like a backup camera with video capabilities. I was thinking about the T2i or Canon 60d. Is there really a big difference between the two. I have a 50d now. Can anyone recommend one or the other for landscape shots and video? I have the 50d for sports or should I just trade the 50d for the 7d.
Thanks

  10.
Thanks for the responses. I have a lot to good info to look into. I shoot mostly sports and landscape with my Canon 50d. I really would like to learn to shoot the video. The Mark II is out of my budget and I heard the Pentax 7d has a good video. I also like the weather sealing since I will be shooting more and more in the wet pacific northwest. I am considering trading in my 50d and getting the 7D or buying the Pentax K 7 and a couple of lenses as a backup or when I shoot in harsher weather than I have in Los Angeles.

  11.
Thanks Michael . I hope to come up to Seattle in Sept. or Oct. I am considering moving up to Seattle or northern California around the new year if I can find a good job. In Seattle they have a couple of Photography programs that I am interested in.

  12.
Thanks a lot for all of the responses. I really appreciate them. The reason I was thinking about the K 7 as a backup camera was due to its weather sealing. My Canon 50d is my main camera but I would like to get a weather sealed camera with video for when I trek up to Oregon and Washington.

  13.
Hi
My name is Greg and I own the Canon 50d. I am thinking about either selling my 50d to get the Canon 7 d or buying the Pentax K7 as a backup camera. I also am looking for a camera to shoot video and one that I can shoot when I go up to the rainy Pacific northwest. I really like the 7d but like the idea of having a nice back up camera. I really like the build of the Pentax k 7 as I can shoot in bad weather but am concerned about what I have heard about picture quality. Since I will be rarely shooting above ISO 400 is the picture quality for the K 7 good? Would anyone recommend is the K 7 a wise investment as I will use it only for landscape shots to be blown up large and displayed.
All advice welcomed.
God Bless

  14.
Hello
My name is greg and I am putting together a website on zenfolio.com to show some of my photos. I have them up at www.prodigalsonphotography.com. I wanted to have the name of my photos/website Prodigal Son Photography displayed on the top but was told that I needed to get a graphic designer to make one for me and then upload it. Does anyone know of a affordable graphic designer where I could get one done without breaking the bank? I just would like the name of my websites made.
Thanks and God Bless
15.
Hi
My name is Greg and I am considering the Canon 7d or the Pentax k 7 cameras. I hope to spend time in the pacific north west ( Oregon, Seattle, and Vancover , CA ) shooting. Since it tends to rain I am looking for a good camera that I can still shoot in when the weather is cold and rainy. I also am interested in using the video as well. Can anyone tell me which is the better choice? I still don't fully understand the difference between weather sealed and weather proof.
Thanks and God Bless

  16.
Hello
I wanted to know if anyone can recommned a good website to display my photographs. I can't afford a really expensive one but would like to get a nice one. Zhibit was recommended for having nice websites for a good price.
I appreciate any recommendations.
17.
Hello
I have a Canon 50d and the Canon 18-135 is lens. I don't have a lot of money to pay for the 70-200 canon lens. I would like to get more zoom range capabilities so I am considering selling my Canon 18-135 IS lens and paying the difference to get the Sigma 18-250 os lens. Does anyone know if the Sigma lens is worth it. I know it is too slow for sports so I am looking for a affordable landscape lens until I can afford the Canon 70-200 lens. Besides an increase in zoom rangs, optical quality is very important to me.
All help appreciated.
God Bless

  18.
Hello
My name is Greg and I am saving up for a camera lens.
I'm considering the Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens or the Canon f/4 L 70-200 lens.
I like to shoot landscape and sports but the Canon L 70-200 2.8 lens is out of my budget.
Can anyone recommend which is the better lens.
I like the 2.8 of the Sigma but I am not sure about optical quality.
I read the the Canon is excellent but it is a f/4.
I would appreciate any advice offered as I am a student on a budget.
Thanks

  19.
Thanks for the responses. For a weather proof Canon and lenses could easily be over $ 3000. I could get a pentax a couple of lenses for around 2000. I was thinkining about the Pentax 16-45 and 55- lenses if they are good lenses. I'm a student so I can't drop a lot of money.

  20.
Hello
My name is Greg and I shoot with the Canon 50d. I might be moving to Seattle where it rains a lot. I was thinking of buying a Pentax to shoot with when the weather is bad. I mostly shoot landscape and print big. Can anyone recommend the K-7 or the K20 d for image quality and build. I like the video aspect as well but have not tried it. I will use this as a back up set up so I do not want to pay a ton of money.

  21.
Hello
My name is Greg and I now have the 50d. I am a sudent so I do not have a lot of extra money. I have the Canon 18-135 IS lens now. I was thinking about getting the Canon 55-250 IS lens to last until I can afford the 70-200 L lens. I know that it is a basic lens but for landscape is the image quality good?
Any help will be appreciated.
