These are great shots everyone I am amazed, birds are so interesting to capture. I had to learn the differences between all the variety types of egrets/herons familys. This is a great resource site to find the birds you are taking pictures of http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Great_Egret.html<div></div>

Thank you each for the insight you have given!
(no the guy was finished, I wouldn't intrupt someone working or involved in shooting) I just thought I have non-photography job that I love and do photography for my enjoyment, and not out to steal his customer or secrets just interested in talking a bit , happen to see his lens and I'm lens researching anyway, and with both of us being in the same area and having seen him a few times shooting figured I'd strike up a converstaion, needless to say that didn't happen. Yes, I'm sure I could find a workshop to take here not a bad idea, I was looking for a post on yahoo groups and some other sites for local photo club but haven't found one for novice yet.
Again, thanks to each of you!

No, I live in Georgia now.
I continue to explore photo.net it is a great site. I do see your point Phil, thank you.
I guess I am just back to trail and error learn as I go. Just find it funny when at times you ask someone that is a photographer out somewhere they seem not to be as friendly or open to be informative or helpful in discussion as someone online might be. Just had an experience recently that caused me to shake me head. So, while I didn't think I was doing anything wrong by asking about his type of lens/shooting I guess there's some unspoken don't dos/ask self taught people like me might not have a clue about?

More than just art or a picture for the sake of taking a photo for the photo album. But at the time the photographrt saw the visison to capture that moment in time of something that may well never be anything like or duplicated again then does it not become art in a form?
I think it goes back to having to have a theme, a reason for taking the picture, an interest in a subject that is liked, to invoke thought or reaction from oneself or others.

1) Do you feel that women are overly exploited in media and advertisements?
Yes.
2) Do you think that media and advertisements shape the peoples views of perfection?
Defintently. It is a visual society.
3) As a photographer, do you feel that sexual photos would get your work more attention?
I'm sure it would but how would you get a dolphin, a pelican, a ship, a bird, and a shell to go nude?
Honestly, I would not want more attention to my photos if I had to include sex to get attention, the pictures I take
should speak for themselves as they are.

Thank you Matt, I did not mean for this to be a request for a critique or get noticed as I have done submitted on the site for critique. I am however interested in trying to find between what I have read, seen, experienced. More a person to "shop talk" with.Does that make sense?

How often does someone run across another photography person on here that would take interest in helping self
teaching photographer struggles, etc with or is there a section I'm missing somewhere on the forums or learning
section where there are self taught advise and a place to locate members for simular interest or by location.
Thanks
